My stay at Chateau Backpackers & Motels was exceptional. The staff went above and beyond when the road in and road out were closed due to heavy rain. They took great care of us, allowing us to stay in our room for 5 extra hours until the road reopened. The cozy and homely atmosphere, along with the amazing staff, made for a truly memorable experience. I highly recommend this hotel.

As a Kiwi gal who has traveled the globe, I can confidently say that Chateau Backpackers is value for pennies. The warm rooms and cool, quirky atmosphere make for a comfortable stay. The free soup served every night brings people together, and the self-service breakfast with waffles is a delightful surprise. The convenient location, free parking, and privacy curtains and plugs by the bed add to the overall experience. With a friendly staff and a cheap price, this place has it all.

the free breakfast and soup for dinner were lovely, and the ability to use the hot tub was a bonus. the beds with privacy curtains, lights, and outlets were comfortable, and the view of the mountains and glacier was cool.

We had a fantastic stay at a backpackers in Franz Josef. The staff at Chateau Backpackers & Motels were extremely accommodating and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. When the dryer wasn't working, they kindly offered to dry our laundry in their staff dryer. Josh and his colleagues were patient and helpful with all of our requests. The hostel itself had a lovely rustic charm, with historical items scattered around the communal room. We appreciated the free soup and other touches like free breakfast and popcorn. The location was perfect, right in the center of town, and the varied accommodation options catered to all budgets. The facilities, including the spa, gym, and pool table, were great additions to our stay. it was excellent value for money and we highly recommend it.

The social spaces, like the comfortable sitting areas and the free pool table, make it easy to meet and interact with other guests. And the free wifi and Netflix on the TV provide entertainment options.
