We had a great stay at Heartland Hotel. The room was clean and had all the basic facilities we needed. The highlight was the lovely outlook over the countryside. We also enjoyed a delicious meal at the on-site bar and restaurant, which had a cosy fire. The breakfast was good too. The staff at the Frontier bar and restaurant were fantastic, providing excellent service and tasty food.

As two single adults, we found our room to be pleasant and quiet, with a nice separation of the beds. The reception area was modern and the staff were friendly and efficient. The cafe offered delicious and reasonably priced food. We also appreciated the good shower and the availability of tea and coffee. The nearby information centre was a great resource, with a beautiful water feature and a short walk to enjoy.

The hotel provides excellent value for money, with good facilities and attention to detail such as providing multiple very good espresso coffees at breakfast. The staff are friendly and the rooms have great basic amenities, all with an unobstructed view to watch the sunset disappear with good facilities in the sunlight.

All was ok during our stay.

We stopped at Haast during our trip and found Heartland Hotel to be a nice place to stay. The hotel may not be as fancy as it looks in the photos, but it had parking right in front of our room. The room had a great desk/mirror/lighting area for getting ready, and the lobby even had a pool table. The location was quiet with beautiful mountain views, and it was convenient to drive to Jackson Bay in about 35-40 minutes.

Would be happy to recommend this hotel.

The staff were inviting and friendly, and the breakfast buffet for $20 was a great option. The location was ideal, between the glaciers and Wanaka, allowing for easy exploration of the area. The room was recently refurbished and had a bright, modern feel. everything was tidy and well-kept, and the hotel facilities were impressive.

On my journey from Franz to the hiking areas I wanted to explore, this hotel was the perfect resting place. I appreciated the cleanliness of the rooms, which were both comfy and tidy. The hotel facilities, such as the onsite restaurant and bar, provided everything I needed during my stay. The free breakfast offered was excellent, and the cook and wait staff were lovely. Additionally, the location of the hotel in this city was ideal, as it provided easy access to Jackson Bay and other points of appeal.

We had a spacious and tidy room with a lovely view. The bed was comfortable, and the shower had just the right amount of pressure. Although the hotel didn't provide dishwashing liquid for the mugs, it wasn't a big issue for our one-night stay. The restaurant on-site had a warm atmosphere, great food, and friendly staff. I highly recommend this hotel for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

The hotel is located in a peaceful and remote area between Franz Joseph and Queenstown, making it a good base for exploring the South Island. The attached restaurant provides a range of food options and also has a pool table and dartboard for entertainment. The room had enough space and the bathroom had a good layout with a mirror and lighting that made getting ready convenient. The staff were friendly and breakfast was satisfying.

Additionally, the location of the hotel was ideal for exploring the beautiful surroundings of Haast.

There was one minor inconvenience during our stay. The exterior of the property could benefit from some tidying up, especially around the doorways.

The rooms were well-equipped with a big comfy bed and the free shower gels were a nice touch. The staff at the onsite cafe/bar were friendly and the food was great.

The hotel lacked soundproofing, and we had the unfortunate luck of staying during a loud party nearby. We tried to contact reception about the noise, but they were closed and we couldn't reach any staff after hours.
