The rooms, although older, are equipped with new and comfortable beds and renovated bathrooms. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure guests' comfort, and the breakfast is delicious. The hotel also offers a variety of activities such as bicycle rental and indoor and outdoor swimming pools. The common living room area adds a magical and cozy touch to the stay.

The rooms facing the street sidewalk can be less intimate and may not provide adequate ventilation.

I had such a magical stay at this hotel! The fact that it used to be a real palace made it even more special. The gardens and pool were absolutely lovely, and I enjoyed a delicious dinner in the ornate dining room. The limited menu was made with fresh and quality ingredients. I also had an incredible day hiking through schist villages, arranged by the hotel with a local company. The staff went above and beyond to make my stay extraordinary.

The breakfast buffet had a good variety of options, and the staff were friendly. the location was perfect for exploring the nearby hiking trails and attractions. the complimentary spa access was a nice touch and provided much-needed relaxation.

The beds were extremely uncomfortable, leading to restless nights and sore backs. the rooms could benefit from better soundproofing as we could hear everything happening in the hallway and adjacent rooms.

The interior of this hotel is absolutely jaw-dropping, giving you the feeling of being in a true palace. The beautiful mountain view from the restaurant adds to the overall charm. The bed is exceptionally comfortable, and the room is cleaned to a great standard every day. The breakfast buffet is a mind-blowing experience, with a wide variety of delicious food that changes slightly each day. The option to have breakfast brought to your room for a small fee is super convenient. The pool, although a bit cold, is still a fantastic place to splash around and have fun. The hotel's location in Lousa is really convenient, and the staff are incredibly attentive and kind. They went above and beyond, even providing a crib with a padded tent and a complimentary toy for our baby. The WiFi issue we had was promptly and efficiently resolved, and we were even upgraded to a nicer room as compensation. The parking was easy, and the breakfast was one of the best we've had in Portugal. The rooms themselves are clean, stylish, and comfortable. The numerous sitting rooms are beautiful and relaxing to spend time in. The proximity to castle ruins and a creek with stunning views is a bonus, and the drive to Talasnal is truly magical. The hotel staff's good command of English was a great help to us.
