The view from the balcony was mind-blowing, resembling Roman ruins above the dam. The building and rooms were stunning. The food was fabulous and affordable. The service was exceptional. The location on Camino Primitivo was perfect for a stopover, offering amazing scenery and a lovely verandah. The staff went above and beyond, bringing me olives when I needed a rest day. The peregrino meal was fantastic. The hotel had free wi-fi, luggage storage, a 24-hour reception, a bar/lounge area, a restaurant. No pets allowed. my stay was super enjoyable and I'm glad I chose this hotel.

De locatie was perfect, in een zeer rustige omgeving en heel dicht bij het centrum van De Koog. Een groot pluspunt was de nette kamer en badkamer. Het personeel was erg aardig en het ontbijt was heerlijk, met diverse streekproducten. Gelukkig was er gratis koffie en thee beschikbaar. Het enige negatieve puntje was dat er niet zoveel toiletartikelen waren, slechts één klein tubetje shampoo en doucheschuim voor twee personen. Ik had iets meer verwacht voor mijn geld.

I spent a relaxing two nights at Hotel Las Grandas at the end of June. The room was clean and comfortable, with a beautiful view of the landscape. The food at the restaurant was delicious and reasonably priced. The staff was friendly and polite. The location is superb, right on the Camino Primitivo trail. I LOVED this hotel! I had to hole up here while on the Camino, unexpectedly, for two days. The staff knew I had tucked in to let my feet rest and brought up a bowl of olives in the middle afternoon after not seeing me for lunch or b’fast. The peregrino meal was fantastic. The outdoor patio overlooking the reservoir is quite stunning even on a cloudy day. Perfect stop on the Camino Primitivo, especially if doing a big leg from Pola de Allande or over the Hospitales. You will not regret stopping here.

Wow! This hotel is in a prime location right on the Camino Primitivo trail, perfect for backpackers. Taxis can be arranged for reasonable prices. The food is fabulous and the staff is amazing!

We had a wonderful stay at Las Grandas. the view from our balcony was absolutely breathtaking, overlooking what seemed like ancient Roman ruins above the dam. the hotel itself was stunning, with beautiful rooms and excellent service. the food at the restaurant was not only delicious but also very affordable. It was the perfect stop along the Camino Primitivo, especially after a long leg from Pola de Allande or over the Hospitales.
