We got exceptional value for our money at Lake View Cottage with its peaceful and stunning location overlooking the lake. The staff treated us with warmth and helpfulness, and our room was spotlessly clean with a comfortable bed.

Located near a picturesque lake, Lake View Cottage offers a serene setting close to nature. Guests can enjoy the beautiful view of the lake from the spacious balcony of their rooms. The hotel also organizes boat rides on the lake, providing an opportunity to observe a variety of birds and even baby crocodiles. The rooms are clean and cozy, equipped with large bathrooms and great water pressure. The staff is friendly and provides excellent service, ensuring a pleasant stay. The delicious breakfast and Sri Lankan curry dinner add to the overall experience.

Finding the hotel from the main road can be slightly challenging.

I stayed here for three nights to explore the nearby Yala national park. The view of the beautiful lake from the hotel was unbelievable, providing a sense of peace and isolation. The service was attentive yet unobtrusive, making me feel like I was staying in my own private villa. The hotel arranged an excellent value safari for me and even dropped me off at the bus station when I left. The meal options were very tasty, with the devilled tuna being a must-try. I also had the opportunity to see turtles and lots of birds, so I recommend bringing binoculars if you can.

We had a wonderful stay at this lakeside retreat. the staff were friendly and accommodating, arranging for our complimentary pick-up from Colombo and even preparing dinner for us. the room was clean and spacious, with a balcony offering a beautiful view of the lake. the safari they organized for us was amazing, with a knowledgeable and safe driver who took us off the beaten path to see wildlife up close. the extended checkout time allowed us to freshen up before continuing our journey. a peaceful and enjoyable experience.
