clean - close to the beach but far enough away from the busy road for peace. got great local tips from the friendly staff. they helped us travel to Colombo and even arranged a tuktuk.

Arrived at Urchin for a short break and stayed for 5 nights. Set in a peaceful location away from main roads, surrounded by nature. New, clean building with a kitchen for guests and a pleasant rooftop terrace. Helpful, friendly staff. Rooms are bright, calm, and well-equipped with AC and fans. Monkeys may surprise you if windows are left open, but they bring a fun touch to your stay.

Can just recommend this hotel.

I keep returning here as the staff helped me find a car service, making me feel valued. It suits me perfectly with Wi-Fi, Free parking, Luggage storage, and Locker room, plus an Outdoor swimming pool. the 24-hour reception, security, and amenities like Snorkelling make it ideal. Can't wait for Christmas!

This hotel is a gem! the staff here is incredibly friendly and always willing to help. the rooms are spotless and super spacious, with great air con and cozy beds. the garden and pool area are just stunning, surrounded by lush greenery that truly enhances the relaxing atmosphere. You can unwind on the huge terrace, enjoying the local wildlife sounds. Plus, it's just a short walk to the main bars and a peaceful stretch of beach.

If I had to nitpick something, it would be great to have a few more chairs on the sun terrace and around the pool area for ultimate relaxation. But honestly, it's not a big deal considering how fantastic everything else is at this hotel.

my recent stay in unawatuna exceeded my expectations! urchin was a fantastic hostel - clean rooms, friendly staff, and great location near the beach and bars. rushira was incredibly helpful and even let us have a late checkout. will definitely return if i pass by unawatuna again!

the hostel I stayed at was perfectly located just a short walk from the peaceful ocean and soft sands of a beautiful beach. It had all the amenities I needed, including a wine store, grocery shop, restaurants, and a fruit shop within a stone's throw. the manager, Ruchira, was incredibly helpful from day one, providing me with recommendations for food, travel, and even assistance with getting a PCR test. the hostel itself had a great vibe, with clean and comfortable rooms, a kitchenette, and a spacious terrace to relax on. it was the perfect place to stay and I can't wait to return on my next trip to Sri Lanka.

As a tourist, I absolutely loved my recent stay at Urchin Unawatuna. The room and bed were spacious, clean, and extremely comfortable. The amenities, such as the A/C and hot shower, were top-notch. The bathroom was spotless and everything felt brand new. The staff, Ronald and Chalana, were incredibly friendly and welcoming throughout my entire stay. The location of the hotel was excellent, with easy access to the beach, a wine store, and a fruit market. I was so impressed with my experience that I ended up extending my stay for an additional four nights, making it a total of seven nights. I cannot recommend this place enough!
