On the first night, our car became a target for some very unpleasant bird droppings. However, this was not the fault of the hotel and the gardener was kind enough to help us clean it off with her hosepipe.

The highlight was definitely the lovely fresh fruit selection before a delicious home cooked English breakfast. The staff were accommodating and the lovely old house was filled with antiques. The elegant dining room and beautifully appointed common rooms added to the overall charm of the place. We also enjoyed the view from our room, overlooking a field of ewes and lambs, with the sound of nature in the background. It was a truly relaxing and laid back retreat.
