We had a lovely stay at a B&B in Windermere. Steve welcomed us warmly and the check-in process was quick. the room was fresh and impeccably clean. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast in the great dining room, with a wide variety of options. the highlight was the private and peaceful atmosphere, perfect for a relaxing getaway. We also appreciated the outdoor space, where we could enjoy our meals at a table outside. the staff were helpful, friendly, and always ready to assist us. the location was convenient, with a small shopping center nearby and a 20-minute walk to the lake. Although the walk back was uphill and took longer, it was worth it for the beautiful surroundings.

We had a wonderful stay at The Howbeck & The Retreat! The hotel was conveniently located within walking distance of the train station and restaurant area, with easy access to Windermere Lake Pier. The room was cozy and had a bathtub with plenty of hot water. We loved the variety of complimentary tea and coffee provided. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and the breakfast options were delicious. We also appreciated the availability of a baby cot upon request.

We had a wonderful stay at The Howbeck & The Retreat. The staff were lovely and efficient, the location was perfect, and the free off-street parking was a great bonus. The breakfast offered a good variety of options and the room itself was lovely with comfortable armchairs. The retreat room was spacious and clean, with a luxurious double spa bath and a patio area. The full English breakfast was delicious, especially the potatoes. We will definitely be back!

The room was beautifully decorated with a stunning bathroom. Close to Windermere and a short walk to town center. Friendly staff and secure car park. Great selection of tea and coffee in the room. Comfortable bed and extra pillows. Excellent location with nearby restaurants like Cafe Italia.

The room itself was spacious, with beautiful decor and an amazing spa bath/jacuzzi! It had everything you needed, from comfy dressing gowns to complimentary water and sherry - a nice touch! The location is very central, with less than a 5-minute walk to all the bars and restaurants. Staff were all very friendly. Definitely recommend and will be coming again!

The location of this hotel was fantastic, with shops, restaurants, and the lake within easy walking distance. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, even allowing us to check in early. The rooms were clean, spacious, and beautifully decorated. The breakfast was delicious and personalized to our tastes. Plus, there was a comfortable living room available for guests to use.

There were a few attention to detail issues, such as squeaky doors and a TV that didn't work properly.

We had a great stay at a lovely hotel with clean and well-equipped rooms. the staff at Howbeck & the Retreat were extremely polite and helpful, with a vast knowledge of the area. They were always ready to assist us with anything we needed. the highlight of our stay was the spa bath in our room, which was a wonderful way to relax after a long day of walking. the breakfasts at the hotel were superb, and the overall cleanliness of the place was impeccable. We also appreciated the complimentary drinks upon arrival and the free passes to a local spa retreat. We will definitely be recommending this hotel and plan to return for our next trip.

There was nothing I didn't like.

My recent stay at this hotel was absolutely luxurious. I was extremely impressed with the exclusive amenities provided in my room, which included a private Sauna and an in-room breakfast. the Bar/ Lounge area was welcoming and stylish, and the service was impeccable. the location was perfect for exploring the area, being just a short walk away from local restaurants and attractions.

It would have been nice to have a common space to relax and unwind, especially during the rainy weather.

Comfy chairs in the room and a soft and nice bed. Bottles of water left for us, which was much appreciated. Beautiful breakfast with a good selection. TV with choice of apps like Netflix. Good selection in the mini bar at reasonable prices. Exceptionally clean room with supplied toiletries. Fabulous jacuzzi that was relaxing and a soft white dressing gown provided. Made-to-order breakfast with numerous choices that was cooked to perfection. Great room size with a separate dining area and a mini fridge. Outside courtyard with a peaceful ambiance and helpful staff.

The feature slate fireplace downstairs was nice with quirky trinkets and art. The breakfasts were gorgeous, with lots of options and cards to put your requests down. The staff were fabulous, very attentive and helpful. The room we stayed in was amazing, elegant, spacious, and very clean. The spa bathroom was decadent, with lots of modern conveniences. The hotel also provided a free off-site health club, which was a great bonus.
