The rooms, although some may find them small, are clean and comfortable. The friendly owners go above and beyond to make you feel welcome, providing helpful local information and delicious cooked breakfasts to start your day. The proximity to restaurants and pubs is a definite advantage, allowing for a great night out after exploring the town.

One minor downside is the lack of a bar on certain days, but with the town's vibrant bar scene just a stone's throw away, it's not a major issue.

I was pleasantly surprised by my stay at this hotel. The prices were very reasonable for what was offered. The attention to detail in the rooms was excellent, with clean and tidy accommodations. The location in this wonderful little pub, nestled in a very historic town, was perfect for exploring the local sights and attractions. There was no on-site parking and finding a spot on the street was a challenge. The bathroom had a strange setup with the hand basin in the bedroom and the shower and toilet separate.

After a long day exploring the Northumberland coast, we arrived at a cozy and convenient hotel in a central location. The rooms were tidy and the facilities were spot on, with a great shower and ample tea and coffee provided. The bed mattresses were extremely comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep. We also enjoyed a hearty and well-cooked breakfast before departure. a highly recommended place to stay!

Tried the lunchtime special, really good! Staff were super friendly to us and our dog, the courtyard a sunny spot to relax in. Good value for money considering what they offered, better than other options around.

The room was small with a window that couldn't be opened, which was quite dusty, and not great value for money. The staff were a mixed bag: one helpful and friendly, the other not so much.

I had an amazing weekend at this hotel! The staff and owners, Linda and Ian, were so welcoming and friendly. They made my stay feel like home away from home. The rooms were comfortable and clean, and I especially loved the attention to detail. The breakfast was outstanding, even for someone like me who is quite fussy with food. I devoured everything on my plate. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a wonderful stay.

One minor thing that could be improved is the stair risers to the rooms. They are at different heights, which can be a bit tricky when carrying your luggage or walking back to your room after a night out.
