The building itself had a charming old-world feel with original wood beams, but it was also nicely updated. The location in the quiet village was perfect for exploring Stirling, and we were close to everything, including Stirling Castle. The breakfast provided was generous and varied, and the hotel facilities were clean and well-maintained.

The Lion and Unicorn hotel in Thornhill is truly a hidden gem. From the moment we arrived, we felt so welcomed and taken care of. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate our needs, making sure we had everything we required for a comfortable stay. The attention to detail throughout the hotel was remarkable, from the well-appointed rooms with their proper curtains that kept out the light, to the cozy atmosphere created by the inviting open fireplace. We also loved the fact that we could bring our furry friend along, as the hotel is located in a small village close to Stirling and even allows dogs in the pub area. The hearty breakfast served in the morning was a delightful treat to start our day. All in all, our stay at this hotel was nothing short of wonderful.

I had an amazing dinner at the restaurant, the food was exceptional and the staff were lovely. The hotel was spotless and the friendly staff were always attentive without being obtrusive. The locals were welcoming and the portions were big and well-priced. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to my family and friends. Also, finding a parking space was not an issue.

The room we were given was very small and cramped, with a musty smell that was off-putting. some of the furnishings and fixtures seemed tired and worn down.
