Upon my recent visit to a hotel in the charming town of Bowness, I had the pleasure of staying at a stunning establishment. The location was absolutely amazing, right in the heart of the town. The hotel itself was beautifully designed, exuding elegance and charm from the moment I stepped inside.

The location was stunning, with breathtaking views of Lake Windermere. The hotel staff were helpful and accommodating. The deluxe room was brilliant with a beautiful view of the lake. The afternoon tea menu offered delicious cakes. The breakfast was exceptional, especially when enjoyed overlooking Lake Windermere from the breakfast room. The large lounge provided a perfect spot for afternoon tea.

Felt great, nothing was too much trouble.

This place is located in the most beautiful spot I have ever seen, right on the lake with beautiful views, which makes it ideal for leisurely walks along the shore. The service here was amazing, and the staff went above and beyond to make sure my stay was perfect. In the room, there were plenty of amenities like tea and coffee facilities, a separate sitting area and a terrace to enjoy the stunning views. The restaurant here was of high quality, and the staff was always at my service when I needed something.

Although I had a small issue with one staff member at the night shift, the issue was handled by the manager very professionally and apologized for any inconvenience it may have caused me. I would still recommend this venue to anyone.

My recent stay at Macdonald Old England in Windermere was absolutely splendid. The hotel's location overlooking Windermere and in the heart of town could not have been better. The rooms in the old part of the hotel were spacious and comfortable. Despite its central location, the evenings were quiet, allowing for a peaceful night's sleep. The gala dinner exceeded my expectations with its delicious food. The valet service and baggage storage were excellent, ensuring a hassle-free experience.

Would be happy to recommend this hotel.

We had a fantastic stay with amazing lake view, beautifully decorated room, and extremely comfortable beds. The spa facilities were clean and relaxing. The hotel's location was excellent, right at the lake and close to everything in the area. The breakfast was delicious and the staff were very polite and welcoming.

Almost perfect.

My wife and I stayed at the Old England Hotel & Spa for my wife's 50th birthday surprise. The staff were incredibly friendly and offered us a free upgrade to an executive lake view room, which made a huge difference to our enjoyment. The hotel's location was fantastic, right near shops, bars, and restaurants, yet surprisingly quiet. The room was lovely, spotlessly clean, and even had a security seal on the door to assure us of its cleanliness. The hotel's concierge was attentive and discreet, making my husband's 60th birthday celebration seamless. The restaurant staff were polite and attentive, making our experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel for its excellent service and perfect location.

For the price we paid, we got excellent value - a comfortable room, a cozy king-size bed, and free WiFi that actually worked! The location was perfect, right in the heart of town with great views of the lake from the dining room and terrace bar. The staff treated us like VIPs, from the friendly reception team to the lovely doorman who helped us with our luggage. The old-world charm and spacious lounge area with comfy sofas added an extra touch of luxury to our stay.

Hotel breakfast could have been better with faster service. Waiting over an hour for our food to be served made the toast and tea cold and inedible.

Everything is what I need and want.

We stayed in a hotel on the shore of Windermere, in a perfect location overlooking the lake, and close to it. Our room had a great view of the lake, and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was a little old-fashioned, but clean. The staff was very polite and efficient, and the breakfast was nice. The hotel also had a swimming pool, sauna, steam and ice rooms, and there were plenty of places to eat nearby.

The hotel was quite expensive for the area.

Had a lovely Xmas break. Enjoyed the complementary mulled wine and mince pies by the cozy fireplace. The location was perfect for exploring the nearby shops and scenery. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The spa treatments were amazing and helped us relax during the busy holiday season.

There were a few negative aspects of our stay. The restaurant was a bit disorganized and some of our orders were mixed up.
