Clean sheets and good location. Only a 20 min walk into town and close to the train station. Room had a TV and a hairdryer. Can easily catch a bus to the zoo and to Liverpool.

Couldn't book online and had to call, but they said they were fully booked. No hand gel anywhere in the hotel and no hand soap in the room.

We had a really enjoyable stay at Oaklands, a Greene King Inns property. the food, both breakfast and evening meals, was delicious and we found the staff to be excellent. the room, while in need of some updating, was spotlessly clean with fresh white bedding and towels. We were provided with tea, coffee, milk, and sugar, which was a nice touch. the staff, including Clare and the waitresses, were friendly and enquired about our satisfaction throughout our stay. we had a pleasant and comfortable experience and can't wait to go back. Thanks to all the staff!

I recently stayed at Oaklands for a few nights while visiting a friend in the area. The location was perfect for my needs, and I appreciated the convenience of having a restaurant/pub attached to the hotel. The room itself was clean and comfortable, with a cozy bed and ample space. Additionally, the staff, particularly Dale, the manager, were helpful in addressing any issues that arose during my stay.

The cleanliness of the pub/restaurant was subpar, which gave off a bad first impression. the room had a strong smell of urine in the bathroom, and despite bringing it up to the manager, they were unhelpful and dismissive.

The accommodation side of the hotel needs some updating as it looks old and tired. the TV in my room didn't work and despite reporting it multiple times, it was never fixed.

We loved the friendly and helpful staff, secure luggage storage, and convenient car park. The fifteen-minute walk to the city centre was a bonus. The excellent full English breakfast kept us going all day. The clean room, white bed linen, and beautiful bathroom added to our comfortable stay.
