We had never stayed in a guest house before, but our experience at St Hilda's was exceptional. The location was perfect, just a short walk to both the train station and the beautiful sea and harbor. The owners, Ian and his lovely wife, made us feel incredibly welcome and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was amazing. The room was bright, clean, and had plenty of clean towels. The bed provided a great night's sleep and the breakfast was absolutely delicious, with a variety of options.

The only drawback was the noisy seagulls, but that's just a small inconvenience compared to the overall wonderful experience. We would definitely love to come back and highly recommend St Hilda Guest House for a pleasant stay.

This hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. the location is absolutely fantastic - just a short stroll from the train station and with the sea and harbour just around the corner. We also appreciated the convenience of free parking right outside on the street. The rooms were clean and bright, with comfortable beds and great facilities all around. We were particularly impressed by the delicious breakfast options available, with a choice of cereal or toast and a full English breakfast served with a steaming pot of tea or coffee. The staff were friendly, talkative, and always willing to offer helpful suggestions for exploring the town.

Exceptional Hosts.

Although there was a small drawback of not having a chair in the bedroom, it didn't really affect our overall experience. The hosts, Ian and Mo, went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and even helped us with our luggage upon arrival.

Had a nice Easter break, with my partner, at a guesthouse by the beach. Lovely hosts who were very talkative and offered a lot of information about the local area. The room was comfortable and came with a decent-sized shared bathroom and separate toilet, which was handy. The breakfast was also top-notch, including a choice of cereal or toast and a full English option, alongside bottomless tea and coffee. The location was ideal, just a stone's throw away from the town centre, the beach and the harbour. All in all, a nice getaway spot.

We had a great experience during our New Year stay. Two things that stood out were the delicious breakfast and the spotless accommodation. The fry up had no trace of grease, which was a pleasant surprise. The location was also perfect, just a short walk from both the railway station and the seafront. Another advantage we enjoyed was the friendly and helpful owners, who made us feel like old friends.

If we had to pick a downside, it would be that the rooms were not en-suite. However, this was outweighed by the other positive aspects of our stay.

The location of the guest house is ideal, as it is just around the corner from the spa & harbour area. This allows for easy access to the sea and offers beautiful views. the free parking available in the street outside is very convenient. The rooms are nicely decorated, clean, and comfortable, providing everything one may need for a pleasant stay. The hosts are friendly and welcoming, making you feel at home. Breakfast is delicious and satisfying, ensuring a great start to the day.

One downside mentioned by previous guests was that the rooms do not have en-suite bathrooms. However, there is a large communal bathroom available with a bath and shower, as well as a separate toilet.
