I recently had a fabulous stay at The Firs Guesthouse in Runswick. It was a perfect getaway for my husband and me, as we explored the beautiful surrounding area. The room was spotless, and we loved the luxurious ensuite with a Spa bath. The warm welcome we received upon arrival was exceptional, and the staff were consistently friendly and accommodating. We were delighted to find that our four-legged companion was also well catered for, with separate towels and waste bags provided. The breakfast choices were extensive, and we enjoyed sampling the local produce. The owner, Mandy, went above and beyond by leaving freshly made cakes in our room and even making us coffee and toast when we were running late one morning. The thoughtful touches and attention to detail truly made our stay special.

We absolutely loved our stay at The Firs! The breakfast bar was a game-changer, offering a wide variety of options and allowing us to start our day at our own pace. The rooms were fantastic, with cake instead of biscuits and a fridge as a bonus. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the cleanliness was impeccable. The best part was definitely the delicious breakfast with its vast selection and generous portions. We also appreciated the warm welcome from the owner and the excellent service from the staff. The location was perfect, nestled between the charming villages of Hinderwell and Runswick Bay, with the latter offering a beautiful, natural setting. The dog-friendly pubs in Hinderwell were a great find, and we enjoyed some fantastic meals at the Brown Cow. The guesthouse also provided easy access to Whitby and other nearby resorts, and wasn't too far from Middlesbrough for some retail therapy. we had a wonderful, relaxing time at The Firs.

We felt so incredibly welcome during our stay that we really have no reason to complain.

I had a fantastic stay at this luxurious hotel. The staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly, making me feel right at home. The room was spacious and cozy, with a comfortable four-post bed and a beautiful bathroom. I loved the little touches like the fresh cake and tea & coffee facilities, complete with fresh milk in a fridge in the room. The breakfast was exceptional, with a wide selection of choices to satisfy any taste. The hotel also had its own restaurant, which served delicious fish dishes. The location at the top of the bay was perfect, and the on-site parking was a huge convenience. it was a great stay and I would definitely come back.

I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

I had a wonderful stay at this charming guesthouse. The staff, including Mandy, were incredibly friendly and helpful, making me feel warmly welcomed throughout my stay. The whole atmosphere of the hotel was relaxing and enjoyable. The room I stayed in was lovely, with a comfortable bed and nice little touches like cake after each cleaning. The breakfast was absolutely superb, and the two young breakfast waitresses were exceptional in their service. Additionally, the location of the hotel was fantastic, just a 10-minute walk from the stunning Runswick Beach. The hotel also provided great facilities, including a great shower, Netflix in the room, and complimentary water and teas. The hotel even allowed pets and treated them as honored guests.

Het hotel was perfect gelegen, midden in het centrum en dichtbij de grote markt. Bovendien was er een lokale supermarkt recht tegenover het hotel, wat erg handig was.

Helaas was er geen roomservice beschikbaar tijdens ons verblijf, zelfs niet voor een simpel kopje koffie. Het personeel leek geen initiatief te tonen en reageerde alsof ze robots waren.

Lovely location, with easy access to the beach and cliff walks. The breakfast was very good, with a reasonable variety of options to choose from. the staff were friendly and helpful, making sure we had everything we needed during our stay.

The decor of the guesthouse was a bit outdated and in need of a refurbishment. The bedroom and bathroom layout could have been better organized, making it difficult to use the dressing table properly.

The location of the hotel is ideal for access to the beach, local pubs, and nearby towns like Sandsend, Whitby, and Robinhoods Bay. The family room offers comfortable beds with a variety of drink options in the room. The breakfast served at the hotel is highly rated and the staff is friendly and helpful.

The slanted roof in the family room could be a hassle for guests with back problems.

As adventure travelers, we loved the convenient location, allowing us to explore the beautiful coastal area and nearby charming villages. Plenty of parking available and a bus stop practically right outside. The friendly staff made us feel welcome and were very attentive. The excellent breakfast, with homemade butter, jams and bread, was a highlight of our stay.

I recently stayed at The Firs Guesthouse for two nights and it was absolutely phenomenal. From the moment I walked in, everything was second to none. The staff were friendly, helpful, and efficient, and the hotel had a cozy and homely atmosphere. The breakfast menu was extensive and the food was amazing, cooked beautifully with local produce. The location was great, just a 10-minute walk from the stunning Runswick Beach. a traditional family-run hotel with excellent service and comfortable accommodations.
