We stayed at Carfraemill for a weekend getaway with our dog. The staff welcomed us warmly and even provided a dog bowl for our furry friend. The food was served quickly, and the portions were generous. The hotel had spacious rooms with a cozy log fire and excellent dining facilities. The staff were friendly, and the homemade shortbread in our room was a delightful touch. We had a fantastic experience and would definitely recommend it.

It was also spotlessly clean and had tea and coffee making facilities, along with delicious homemade shortbread. the breakfast selection was fantastic, with a wide variety of choices available. the staff were friendly and engaging, and it was great to see them preparing for a wedding. the location was convenient, with easy access to nearby coastal areas for exploring.

The limited options for having a drink. There was no dedicated bar area, so we had to sit at one of the dining room tables to enjoy a drink.

There were strong cooking smells in the hallway that leaked into the room, which was a bit bothersome.

The evening meal was absolutely top notch and I especially appreciated the water and biscuit in the room. The location was also peaceful and quiet, allowing for a good night's sleep.

In terms of drawbacks, I did find the size of the room disappointing, as it was quite small for a double room. Additionally, the breakfast experience was a bit of a letdown.

I recently stayed at this lovely hotel for a few nights and had a fantastic experience. The location is great, with charming towns like Melrose nearby. The food at the hotel was delicious, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. It's also conveniently located, making it easy to drive down from the central belt. a great spot to stay!

I had a wonderful stay at this luxurious 4-star hotel. The location was absolutely stunning, nestled in a scenic area where I could enjoy the beauty of nature. The staff were incredibly attentive and friendly, always ready to assist. The room was clean, comfortable, and had great amenities such as an ironing facility and a flat-screen TV. The dining experience was exceptional with delicious food served promptly in a spacious dining room. I also appreciated the various options for food, including special diet menus. the service and quality of this hotel were top-notch.

We stayed over Easter holidays and the food was really tasty. Bright colours and fresh food were just what we needed. the staff were pleasant and friendly which we liked. the location was spot on - close enough to amenities but not so close to be in the thick of it. We also enjoyed the scenery near the hotel; picturesque rolling hills surrounded us.

The dog-friendly aspect of the hotel was a deceitful lure. We paid £40 for a dog, we were told dogs could not be on any furniture and dogs could not be taken into certain areas of the hotel.
