Superb location, excellent food, and very friendly and welcoming staff. Lovely hotel rooms and a cracking view over the river. The hotel is also conveniently located on the seafront, making it easy to explore the town. I also discovered a great fishing club nearby for drinks.

Plus, the view from some of the rooms is breathtaking, overlooking the picturesque Whitby Harbour.

Had a great Thanksgiving break. We took advantage of two complementary facts offered. Location was ideal. We had easy access to main pier areas and shops. Enjoyed a lovely view from our room.

Rude staff belittled us and gave us a room next to the kitchen. We found the room dirty, tired and ill-prepared for guests.

Excellent location, stunning views of River Esk and Abbey, lovely breakfast, friendly and helpful staff, good beer choices, nice bathroom with great water pressure.

For us it was ideal.
