I stumbled upon this hidden gem, The Royal Oak, for a one-night stay before heading home from my two-week break. The spacious and ultra-clean room exceeded my expectations. The staff, including the chef, were incredibly friendly and helpful. The delicious evening meals and breakfasts were huge portions at very reasonable prices. The warm and relaxing bar was perfect for enjoying a couple of pints. The comfortable bed and warm room provided a cozy retreat after a day at Alton Towers. The ample free parking and proximity to the Tissington trail entrance made it easy to explore the area on bikes.

The B&B, where we stayed during our trip, was exceptionally well-maintained and offered a fantastic location for visiting a nearby amusement park, which was only nine miles away. the staff were incredibly welcoming and accommodating, and the quality of food and drink was exceptional. the garden area was an added bonus, with various play equipment for children to enjoy.

Although we had requested breakfast at 8:30 am, it was not ready until ten minutes late; however, the staff did apologize and explained that they had encountered an accident on their way to work, which was entirely outside their control.

The Royal Oak in Ashbourne was great value for money with a lovely and spacious room. Despite being near a busy road, the room was quiet once the window was closed. The staff were very accommodating and friendly, especially Jess and Nicole.

The only thing that could have made the breakfast better was the selection.
