The location was very nice and the hotel was very clean. The room was lovely, with a spacious and well-appointed bathroom. We received a very friendly welcome from all the staff and locals, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The shower was great, and we appreciated the tea and coffee facilities in the room. The attention to detail was evident throughout our stay, and the breakfast was superb, with a choice of duck or chicken eggs for my daughter's omelette. it was a very pleasant stay, from the warm welcome to the delicious meal in the evening and the large breakfast in the morning.

The prices were reasonable, especially considering the level of service and attention to detail provided by the staff. The hotel has a lovely rural location, offering stunning views of the surrounding countryside. The rooms, which have been recently refurbished, were spacious and comfortable, with the biggest and most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. The bathroom was huge, with modern fixtures and lovely deep carpets. The breakfast, with its fresh chicken or duck eggs, was above and beyond what I expected for an included meal. the Shoulder Of Mutton Inn truly exceeded my expectations in every way.

The attention to detail was remarkable, from the extra hanging storage in the room to the fresh chicken or duck eggs served for breakfast. The staff were friendly and went above and beyond, just like Brian who shared his extensive knowledge about the village and its surroundings. The location was perfect, surrounded by beautiful history and with a good choice of evening meals at excellent prices.

The breakfast menu offers a variety of choices including hen or duck eggs. a gem of a find with high-quality furniture and a delicious dining experience.

One small issue was the distance of single lane farm roads to reach the inn, but it didn't pose a significant problem.

Our newly built family room was perfect with a gorgeous balcony view of the countryside. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the shower was top-notch. They even made sure our furry friend felt welcome by offering water upon arrival and allowing us to have breakfast with our dog. The food was simple but absolutely delicious, especially the scotch egg starter and the cottage pie. The bar was lively in the evening, but we could retreat to our room with a drink and enjoy a peaceful night. The morning breakfast was a winner, with a hearty full English that kept us fueled for the day. The surrounding village offered lovely footpaths for a pre-breakfast stroll in the countryside.

The door lock to our room was a bit tricky, but we informed the staff before we left. I highly recommend this inn for a beautiful stay with wonderful people and amazing food.

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel in Hamstall Ridware. The cleanliness of the rooms was impeccable, and the hotel facilities were top-notch. The parking was conveniently located right across the road from the pub. Additionally, the hotel's location, near the National Memorial Arboretum, was perfect for exploring the area. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making me feel welcome throughout my stay. The breakfast included a variety of delicious options, including cereals, a full English breakfast, yogurt, fruit, and croissants. The hotel provided an excellent base for my visit to the area, especially during this cold and wet time of year.

While the service was a little slow during our evening meal, likely due to the overwhelming popularity of the eat out to help out deal that many pubs/restaurants are offering, the locally sourced and good quality food was worth the wait. Though we did have one issue with the meat being tough in our steak & ale pie, the staff were incredibly apologetic and made up for it with their warm hospitality.

Rural location, spotlessly clean, fantastic food, friendly staff, incredible service. Friendly pub atmosphere, quiet and comfortable room, powerful shower.
