My partner and I truly enjoyed the vibrant atmosphere at The Swan at Hay. The sunny garden was perfect for relaxing with a drink, and the food was delicious. We especially loved the sticky toffee pudding!

However, we had a bit of a challenge with our room’s layout—it felt cramped for our longer stay. The occasional noise from the heating system was a bit distracting, and we could hear our neighbors at times.

i had a stay that woudl ve been lovely if my room wasn’t so basic, with black mould in the shower. also, breakfast? the pastries looked stale and only reappeared each morning, and i was shocked not to receive an upgrade for such a disappointing experience. almost gave a good review, but just couldn’t!

Consider asking the staff to store items from local markets in their fridge for convenience during your stay. It's a thoughtful service they provide!

I found the decor absolutely, how do I say this, tragically shabby, with stained seats and a carpet that looked like it survived a war. The meal I had was so dreadful, I expected at least a complimentary gesture to smooth things over, you know, something for my trouble? Almost gave a good review, but just couldn’t.

swan at hay has a fantastic location, just a few minutes' walk to the town center. the staff were super friendly, and the breakfast was freshly cooked to order. my double room was clean, airy, and the bed was so comfortable. plenty of tea and coffee available in the room, too.

The meal was unforgettable I had this amazing crispy beef starter and then the ribs with sweet potato fries like the best I ever tasted. The service was top-notch too, super attentive but not annoying just right complete satisfaction.

Wasn’t exactly a bargain but still worthwhile for the experience.

The parking situation is cramped!!! It's hard to believe room shadows hold the distant sounds of cars revving at dawn. Not to mention the tired decor and the limited access down those narrow staircases — a real hassle with luggage!!!

The staff's attentiveness made our stay special. the breakfast was a highlight, especially with the perfect toast and freshly brewed coffee. The lovely garden added a nice touch to our dining experience.

The parking is a bit of a squeeze. also, the room decor could use a refresh to enhance the ambiance.

I enjoyed my stay at this place, where the breakfast was excellent. I appreciated the friendly staff who ensured I had everything I needed. Each morning, service was quick, and everything was of good quality. The location is convenient for a trip around this beautiful area. I could easily walk to nearby restaurants, unlike the unpleasant experience I had at the closest pub. I plan to return for more exploration in the future.

This place suits me perfectly! Free Wi-Fi, a cozy bar area, and 24-hour security make my stay comfortable. The staff even returned my forgotten earpods on my first visit. I highly recommend it for a relaxing getaway. I'll be back for a business trip!
