We booked Three Wheat Heads as a quick stopover on our journey back from Scotland and it turned out to be the highlight of our trip. The inn is located in a tranquil village in rural Northumberland, offering spectacular views from the large beer garden. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the evening meal was fabulous and well-priced. The bar had a great selection of local ales. The biggest breakfast imaginable set us up for our long journey. We will definitely return if heading north again.

We had a lovely Christmas stay at this hotel. the breakfast was amazing, with a full English served on a huge plate. the staff were friendly and the room had beautiful views. We also appreciated the dog-friendly garden where our furry friend had a great time.

The only negative aspect was the cracked tiles and slightly grubby carpet leading to the guest bedrooms. the noise from the adjoining room shower was a bit bothersome.

The rooms were clean, quiet, and comfortable, with spacious bathrooms. The menu selection for both breakfast and dinner was impressive, and the quality of the meals exceeded our expectations. They even provided a secure location for our ebikes with a nearby mains supply for charging. We appreciated the flexibility of being able to drop our bags early on arrival and collect them later on departure. the staff, amenities, and location made for a fantastic experience at Three Wheat Heads.

If you're a sports fan, the limited channel selection on the television might be disappointing. However, with so many lovely places to visit, it's not a real drawback.

I had a great 4-night stay at Three Wheat Heads. the family room was lovely and cosy with clean surroundings and fine views. the staff were very friendly and provided excellent service. the evening meal was delicious with a nice variety of food at reasonable prices. the breakfast selection was also nice, especially the poached eggs. the secure locked facilities for our sandstone way cycle tour were a bonus. I would definitely recommend this place, especially considering the good price of £110 per night.
