During my recent stay at a retreat in Kona, I had the pleasure of being steps away from a beautiful snorkeling beach. The peacefulness of the location, away from the main road, provided a much-needed escape from the hustle and bustle. The two-level dorm with a balcony offered a stunning ocean view, and the presence of both a common outdoor kitchen and kitchen facilities in the room made dining options convenient. The friendly owner and close proximity to the center of Kona added to the appeal. It was the perfect base for exploring the beaches in the area, and even allowed us to make a day trip to Hilo. Although the beds were too soft for my back pain, I understand that preferences vary. I highly recommend this retreat for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

The room had a comfy bed, a mini kitchen, and a veranda. The host, Gigi, was friendly. The laundry was convenient. Wifi worked well. Provided umbrellas, cooler, and beach mats were a plus.

As trekkers and a group of friends, we loved the fantastic hospitality provided by Gigi. She warmly welcomed us and took the time to get to know us, despite our short stay. We appreciated the early check-in and the helpful recommendations. Gigi even arranged a reliable and friendly cab driver to take us to the airport. The room had a lovely Lanai, which was very relaxing. The location was perfect, with a nearby beach for snorkeling and surfing. The outdoor community kitchen was also a great amenity, with everything we needed for our stay.

We felt very welcome during our stay and have nothing to complain about.

Our room was lovely, with a comfortable bed and a cool patio. We especially enjoyed our balcony, where we could hear the ocean and watch geckos climbing up and down the trees. the property's manager, Gigi, was incredibly welcoming and helpful, giving us fantastic tips to make the most of our island experience. the entire facility was clean and well-maintained, and we loved the peaceful and relaxing atmosphere.

We had a fantastic stay at a retreat just steps away from a stunning beach. The location was perfect, with plenty of beautiful beaches to explore. The room we stayed in was spacious and attractive, offering a partial view of the ocean. The staff was helpful and provided us with everything we needed. The retreat had all the amenities we could ask for, including a fridge and microwave in our room. We enjoyed spending time on the lanai, taking in the breathtaking view of the ocean.

One minor complaint was the noise from other guests, as the open-air design made it easy to hear conversations and people coming and going.

The room itself was spacious and attractive, with a comfortable bed, kitchen area, and a clean bathroom. Gigi, the hotel manager, provided a warm welcome and was always available for any questions we had. The location was quiet and conveniently tucked away, but still close to Ali'i Dr. We also appreciated the easy access to a beach across the road, perfect for beginner snorkeling. our experience at Big Island Retreat was amazing and we wish we could have stayed longer!

The location of this retreat was perfect, just a short walk to the beach and close to a supermarket. the room was nicely decorated and had a small kitchenette, which was convenient. the inclusion of beach equipment was a nice touch and saved us money on rentals.

The lack of air conditioning was a major issue, especially during the hot summer afternoons and evenings. the room became uncomfortably sticky and the overhead fan didn't provide enough relief.

We had an incredible stay at this hotel. The cleanliness of the room was outstanding, and the hotel facilities were top-notch. The outdoor community kitchen was a fantastic amenity, allowing us to easily cook and hang out. Being so close to the beach was a major highlight, as we could walk there in just a few minutes. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, making our experience even better.

We got amazing value for our money at the Big Island Retreat. The room was spacious with a fantastic ocean-side view. The location was ideal, with beautiful beaches and great snorkeling spots within walking distance. The staff, especially Gigi, were incredibly helpful and friendly, providing everything we needed for a perfect stay.

The only thing that could make the breakfast option better was having a sink in the bathroom instead of just in the kitchen.

Some areas of the property did not have a strong Wi-Fi signal, which could be problematic for those who rely on internet access. the open courtyard style of the hotel allowed for noise to travel easily, and not all guests respected the designated quiet hours.

The manager provided excellent advice and service. The Seaside room had a nice breeze and ocean sounds. It was the cleanest place we stayed with pleasant-smelling towels and soft sheets. Laundry facilities and BBQ area available. Laid back Hawaiian style with top pick rating.

I recently stayed at a lovely hotel in Kailua-Kona for a few days and had a wonderful experience. The room was spacious and the staff, although not really visible, was quite responsive. The other guests were nice and the hotel is in close proximity to a great snorkeling beach. The hotel also offers laundry services and has a nice community room. Moreover, the room had a super comfortable bed and a cool patio that was mosquito-free. The entire facility was clean and filled with comforts. Gigi, the manager, was a welcoming person and gave us the best tips to enjoy the island. It truly felt like home!

The location is perfect, with the hotel being close to a great beach for snorkeling. The rooms are very quaint and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The hotel staff, especially Gigi, the property manager, were helpful and made us feel welcome. They provided us with great dinner suggestions and were always courteous. The hotel facilities were clean and well-maintained. We also appreciated the extra amenities such as umbrellas, a cooler, and beach mats provided by the hotel.
