The staff, especially Chris and Larry, were excellent. The old charm of this hotel adds to its appeal. The large wrap-around porch with rocking chairs was perfect for enjoying the evening with a glass of wine. The unique rooms and delicious breakfast set this hotel apart from others.

We absolutely loved the historic charm of this inn. The rooms were beautifully decorated and had all the modern comforts we needed. The afternoon social with wine, tea, and cheese and crackers was a delightful touch. We also enjoyed the morning breakfast and the availability of bicycles to explore the bike path nearby. we highly recommend this hotel for a unique and enjoyable stay.

This hotel is located in a perfect spot, right next to the ocean and in the center of OBX, making it an ideal location to explore all the wonderful attractions in the area. The staff provide excellent service and ensure that the rooms are kept clean and comfortable with all amenities. Additionally, the breakfast is exceptional, featuring fresh veggies from the onsite garden and homemade pastries.

Our Christmas stay at this inn was a great experience. the inn had a charming atmosphere and the grounds were well-kept. We loved the fact that they offered a delicious breakfast and afternoon tea, which added a special touch to our stay. Additionally, the outdoor pool was a nice amenity to have, and we enjoyed being able to access the beach easily through the walkway provided.

One downside of our stay was that our room was on the upper floor and there was no elevator. This made it a bit challenging for us, especially when carrying our luggage.

Loved the beach path for sunrise views. Enjoyed daily breakfast and social hour treats. Staff were friendly and room was comfortable for deep sleep. Would return for rest and relaxation.

We had an amazing stay at the First Colony Inn. It was our honeymoon, and despite the chilly weather, the property and amenities were incredible. We enjoyed playing games in the library and the breakfast was outstanding. The happy hour was a fun addition and the gardens were beautiful. The staff, especially Hannah, were fantastic. We appreciated the extended check-out time and the afternoon cake and wine surprise.

The Inn worked well for our travels. Did not realize how convenient it would be to stay here and visit both Roanoke and Wright location from one place rather than move about. Comfortable rooms, easy beach access, and a delicious breakfast were welcome qualities of the short stay. If heading this way as a tourist, I would recommend planning to use this location as an anchor. The fluffy bed, clean room, beautiful property, and friendly front desk personnel were all added bonuses.
