We got great value for our money with a large corner room that had spectacular views of the lake. The staff at Hanging Horn Lakeside Resort were incredibly friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The location was perfect, with access to paddle boats, kayaks, and canoes, and being close to some delicious restaurants in town.

The only thing that could have made the breakfast better would be more variety in the breakfast items.

This hotel had the vibe of a former summer camp on a quiet Minnesota lake-- just what we wanted. Paddle boats, kayaks, canoes, etc were ready for our use and included. The owners were really "Minnesota Nice". Queen size bed was super comfortable. View from Room 7 was just lovely, morning and evening. The staff were amazing—so nice and accommodating. We wanted to go out on the dock after dark to watch for Northern lights. We forgot a flashlight and they provided one for us. We loved the private and serene setting. A family of loons put on a real display right in front of our window! The view from our room was beautiful. We made good use of the kayaks that were free for guests.

We did experience a few minor inconveniences during our stay. the lighting in the room was limited, with only a dim lamp and a bright ceiling fan.

I had such a wonderful stay at Hanging Horn Lakeside Resort! The setting was absolutely beautiful, and the view of the lake from my room was breathtaking. The peaceful and serene atmosphere was exactly what I needed to relax and unwind. And I have to mention the camp fire under the stars - it was the perfect ending to my busy days exploring Duluth. I highly recommend this hotel for a getaway. I only wished it was pet-friendly so my daughter could have stayed with us, but they did allow her dog on the premises. A truly exceptional experience!

What a great hidden gem! We stayed at Hanging Horn Lakeside Resort for a few days and it was perfect. The beach area with canoes, kayaks, and peddle boats was so much fun. We even saw a loon while sitting on the dock. The staff, Charlie and Leslie, were incredibly friendly and made us feel at home. Our room had a beautiful view of the lake and was very comfortable and clean. We can't wait to go back!
