However, several areas showed signs of disrepair, which detracts from the grandeur you'd expect. Some rooms appear dated, leading to discomfort during the stay, and issues like poor housekeeping have been reported, with unvacuumed areas and dirty carpets diminishing the overall cleanliness. Additionally, noise disturbances from neighboring rooms and inconsistent service can affect the overall experience, leaving guests craving a bit more attention to detail.

I couldn't get enough of the salads at the Wharf restaurant! The blend of fresh ingredients with local flavors made each bite memorable. Plus, the bike ride around the island at sunset was a visual feast, enhancing the trip vibes!

We had a little hiccup with hot water on the first night, but they swiftly comped our breakfast, which was delightful! Given that, it all still shimmered like the decor of the historic lodge.

Staying at the Jekyll Island Club Resort felt like stepping into a charming time capsule where I could reclaim my inner aristocrat! Imagine lounging in a king bed that makes you feel like royalty, complete with a fireplace and all the historical décor. The expansive grounds, perfect for biking or hiking, were enchanting, with majestic trees draped in Spanish moss that seemed to whisper tales of the Gilded Age! Dining at The Wharf was delightful, serving Southern favorites that made my taste buds dance with joy. The warm breeze on the beach, paired with our lovely verandas connecting to my children's room, created a homely vibe that was simply magical.

Parking for buses.

The resort's afternoon tea was a delightful surprise. With attentive service and live music, it felt like a charming escape, perfect for unwinding after a day of biking around the beautiful grounds.

While the grandeur of the historical buildings is captivating, some areas showed signs of disrepair, like cracked moldings that could have used some care. Dining options felt limited of late.

Loved the brekkie in the grand dining room—lekker! The bikes were awesome, we jollied around the island and enjoyed the piped music outside while lounging at the pool. Free parking was a bonus too!

Only downside was the shower knobs were bit tricky to turn, bit of a mission.

The location was perfect for our getaway! Loved the comfy beds and enjoyed whizzing around on the bikes. Those lovely old trees and the delightful music outside really set the mood.

Only letdown was the limited fine dining options. I was ready to dine like royalty, not with a side of 'meh. ' Also, can someone please explain the flat sheets on the mattress that just can’t seem to stay put?
