We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The location was perfect, situated in a charming Carmel neighborhood. We loved that it was just a short walk to downtown Carmel and the beach. The hotel itself was beautiful, with well-maintained grounds and a lovely terrace where we could relax and enjoy the scenery. The staff provided exceptional service, from the warm welcome drink upon arrival to the turn-down service and manager wine tastings in the evening. The rooms were comfortable and clean, with all the amenities we needed, including a mini-bar and ironing facilities.

We would highly recommend this hotel to our family and friends. They will surely appreciate the convenient location, helpful staff, and comfortable rooms.

We were a few things during our Easter stay. Firstly, our bathtub had drainage problems after each shower, which was quite unpleasant.

There were a few negative aspects of my stay. Additionally, the rollaway cot provided for my son was not in good condition, with springs poking out.

The beautiful rooms are equipped with comfortable beds and beautiful furnishings. The breakfast spread, with options like waffles and omelettes, is a guest favourite. Additionally, the in-room service is dependable and every detail is meticulously tended to. You'll appreciate the wine tasting in the evening and the cookie and milk tradition at bedtime.

The parking lot can be very small and difficult to navigate.

I recently stayed at this Mediterranean-style boutique hotel in Carmel and I had an amazing time. The decor was absolutely gorgeous, and the garden and pool areas were perfect for relaxation. They offered fantastic small extras like wine tastings and Valrhona cookies. The location was top class, with easy access to the center of Carmel and the beautiful beach. I also appreciated the helpful and polite staff who went above and beyond, even serving tea late in the evening.

Felt like I was relaxing at home, no complaints whatsoever.

Our three night stay at La Playa was wonderful from the start. The staff is very courteous, attentive, and welcoming. They offered us Sangia when we arrived; there were manager wine tastings each evening; later in the evenings there were hot cookies and milk available. We received turn down service each night too. The breakfast was delicious and offered a range of choices including champagne, omelettes, waffles, fresh fruits, assorted cereals. We especially enjoyed the warmness and beauty of the property filled with beautiful plants and flowers. We spent evenings having cocktails and watching the sunset on the outside porch. One evening we took our own wine and cheese we had purchased from Carmel and sat in the garden! Parking at the hotel lot was never a problem. There was a complementary hotel shuttle that was timely and took us to dinner each evening and brought us back. We look forward to returning!

I felt welcomed as soon as I entered the doors, the staff offered me a refreshing drink. The property was beautiful with a relaxing garden and a fantastic breakfast that included champagne. I enjoyed watching the sunset from the porch with a drink. I recommend this hotel.

We were initially booked at Hotel Carmel, but due to a room issue, we were pleasantly surprised when they upgraded us to La Playa Carmel. The staff was incredibly accommodating and made sure we had a wonderful stay. The location was perfect, just a short walk from the beach and town. The complimentary wine tasting and delicious breakfast were the cherry on top. I highly recommend this hotel for its exceptional service and beautiful surroundings.

The staff is simply amazing! We were celebrating our anniversary and had no plans, but they went above and beyond to make it special, with free champagne and cupcakes, and room upgrades with ocean views and fireplaces. Breakfast was delicious and the bar staff was fantastic. the property is gorgeous, with well-kept gardens and an awesome pool, not to mention the proximity to the beach and local dining options.

Some rooms can run a bit warm due to steam heating, so double-check which ones to avoid. prices are on the higher side, but you certainly get what you pay for, such as complimentary wine reception and fresh cookies in the lobby.
