I had a wonderful stay at Residence Inn Merrillville during my recent visit. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, making my experience enjoyable. The kitchenette in my suite was very convenient, allowing me to prepare meals just like at home. The breakfast provided a good selection, including fluffy omelets and crispy sausage. I appreciated the peaceful environment around the indoor pool and fire pit where I could relax outside.

Some areas of the hotel were outdated.

Oh, those Bernese sausages were a delight! Cooking them up in the suite’s kitchenette was pure joy. Plus, the fire pit outside added a cozy ambiance, letting us unwind after a busy day exploring. And let’s not forget the amazing shopping nearby!

Now, while my room was non-smoking, I did stumble upon a used cigarette butt in the closet—yikes!

During my stay, I was appalled by the lack of cleanliness in my room. I found dirty linens from a previous guest still in the closet, and the odor was unbearable. The breakfast options were limited and served cold. it was a frustrating experience, especially considering the price I paid.

However, breakfast options were kinda underwhelming, like they were on a vacation themselves! And, I swear the hot items were just playacting at being warm.

This place suits me perfectly, offering amenities like free Wi-Fi, a fitness center, and non-smoking rooms. During my first stay, the staff recommended local delivery, which I appreciated. I'm excited to return for Easter!
