Our rooms were clean and came with a stunning view. the pool and hot tub provided plenty of fun, and the ski slopes were conveniently on-site. the spa services were fantastic and relaxing.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hockley Valley Resort for a business trip, and I must say, I was genuinely impressed with the experience. the director chose this hotel, and I can see why. the resort amenities were plentiful; I particularly enjoyed a day on the golf course, which was beautifully maintained and offered a challenging yet enjoyable round. After the game, I indulged in some much-needed self-care at the spa, where the staff was professional and the treatments were perfectly tailored to my wellness needs. the outdoor pool was a refreshing escape, providing a perfect backdrop for relaxation. Breakfast was delightful, with a variety of options and attentive staff who made sure I was well taken care of, even when it got busy.

But, on to our room. Wow, was it dated! The decor felt like it hadn’t been touched in ages, like a time capsule from the early 2000s. The air conditioning unit was hanging off the wall, which was a bit concerning, and the fridge? Major cleanliness issues there. I’m all about deep cleans in hotel rooms, and this one really needed a serious scrub-down. The bathroom felt more like a gym locker room—definitely not a luxe vibe. The TV didn’t work well at all, which wouldn’t normally affect me, but when Orangeville pretty much shuts down by 10:30 PM on weekends, having a functional TV would have been nice. Service was hit or miss. Our first night, we decided to do room service since we were pretty wiped out after a long day. I really had hopes for a healthy wrap or salad, but all we got was a sad kale Caesar salad that barely filled me up, plus they forgot one of our entrees. I mean, for over $100, I expected more than a couple mouthfuls of food. At least they corrected it quickly when we brought it up, so props for that. The morning buffet was a highlight, though. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and had a great variety—definitely a good way to kick-start the day. I loved that breakfast was served until 11 AM; perfect for those holiday sleep-ins. Wish dinner had met that same standard, but that’s a different story. I did find it odd that we had to pay extra for bread with our meals—it just felt cheap, especially when you’re paying around $19 for chicken or $29 for pasta. I did leave a good tip for our server since it wasn’t his fault, but still, they really should just include that. One other bummer was the lack of activities for kids during March Break; aside from indoor pools and some skiing, it felt like they needed more games or fun things planned. The marshmallow roasting was cute, but definitely not enough to keep the younger ones entertained for long. And geez, let’s talk about that phone in the room. It didn’t even have the buttons labeled, and almost every time I had to call down for something, it felt like I was rolling the dice on whether I’d get through right away or not. Just a minor annoyance, but can really add up when you want a simple answer. during our stay, the power went out. I can’t blame the hotel for that, but seriously, what a frustrating experience! It was a hot night, and they told us it would take four hours to restore power. We decided to leave rather than suffer in the heat, and I was promised a call back from a manager about a refund but never heard back. Instead, they offered a future stay, which felt like a consolation prize that didn't really do much for me. With all that said, I loved the gardens and the friendly staff, but there’s definitely a lot of room for improvement in the facilities and dining options. If I return, I would hope for some updates on the rooms and perhaps a more varied menu for room service.

i had a great time at this resort, and it really exceeded my expectations during my previous stay in orangeville. the scenic location is beautiful, and the pool facilities are fantastic for families. i loved the comfortable bedding and delicious buffet breakfast that made our mornings special.

I always return here for my romantic escapes. the staff even helped me with local delivery on my first stay. With great amenities like Wi-Fi, pools, and a spa, it’s the perfect place for relaxation and fun.

Despite some minor cleanliness issues and noise from neighboring rooms, the attentive service from Sarah and the delightful breakfast made for a memorable experience. Perfect for nature lovers!

The Aida Ballroom had lovely garden doors that opened onto a patio, perfect for a breath of fresh air. While the skiing was closed, I had a great time nursing my hot chocolate, hoping my non-skier spouse would finally get on the slopes. the breakfast spread was solid, and I could definitely get used to those views. Just wish the room service menus were as enticing as my camera roll! All in all, a worthy nature escape for a couple of Londoners.
