The location is unbeatable, right on East Nanjing Road, just a short walk to the Bund and Yu Garden. The historic charm of the building is a nice touch, giving it character compared to newer hotels in the area.

However, the place shows its age—the windows need replacing, with noise from the square keeping things loud at night. Room amenities were lacking, like the absence of a fridge despite having space for one. Connectivity was also a problem for some, with Wi-Fi not up to par for getting news or accessing social media. Luggage handling could be a hassle since there are no ramps and limited elevator access, making it tricky for those with heavy bags.

The location is ideal, right off the Nanjing Walking Street. The room was clean and surprisingly well maintained. Staying at this historic hotel was perfect for our family trip! We loved the clean, spacious room with a fantastic view over Nanjing Road. The kids enjoyed exploring the area, especially the nearby local eateries that offered delicious snacks.

the location is really the best part, right at the start of nanjing road so ur in the middle of all the action. also, the staff is pretty chill and helpful when you need something. the room i got was decent with good space and clean. loved the complimentary wifi too, made it easy to share all my shanghai pics. really cool that they have a ticket counter downstairs for train bookings.

but the rooms kinda show their age and could use some updating. It gets noisy at night with all the street action. Also, breakfast ain't great. not much of a selection to choose from.

the aircon didn’t really work well and the lift was super slow. also, the noise from the street was annoying at night.
