The property had stunning surroundings and plenty of activities to enjoy. We spent our days exploring the beautiful farm, taking walks on the trails, and relaxing by the pool and jacuzzi. the room was spacious, comfortable, and well-maintained. the staff were always friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to accommodate our needs. One of the best aspects was the shuttle service they provided, making it easy for us to visit nearby attractions without a car.

One downside was the lack of cooking facilities, which made it difficult for us to prepare our own meals. Additionally, we had a disappointing experience when we followed the staff's recommendation to hike to see the volcano.

We loved the unique "tent" accommodations with queen size bed and balcony, and the stunning view. The staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating. Enjoyed delicious meals with attention to detail and local ingredients. Permaculture ethos is inspiring.

I recently stayed at a beautiful hotel in El Castillo and had an amazing time. The staff were incredibly helpful, giving us suggestions on what to do and where to go. We ended up going to free hot springs in the evening, which was an unforgettable experience. The hotel also offers yoga in the morning at a nearby farm, which was a great way to start the day. The dinner at the property was exceptional, with the chefs cooking food with love. The views of the Arenal Volcano were supposed to be great, although we didn't get to see it due to the clouds. However, we did get some stunning shots of hummingbirds.

I highly recommend this hotel.

The location of the hotel was absolutely stunning, with beautiful views of the lake and volcano. the photos we took were postcard-worthy. the food at the restaurant was a standout feature. With ingredients sourced from their own farm, each meal was delicious and fresh. the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making us feel welcomed and attended to throughout our stay.

The road leading to the hotel was quite bumpy and required a 4x4 vehicle. the ride was a bit long, about 30 minutes from the main road, but the end destination was worth it.

I had the most amazing stay at this hotel! The location was absolutely breathtaking, with stunning views of the volcano and lake. The hotel grounds were well-maintained and the variety of flora and fauna was incredible. The staff, especially Ariana, were extremely friendly, polite, and knowledgeable. I even had the opportunity to go on an early morning birding tour and see a hummingbird nest, which was a highlight of my stay.

The hotel had a large property with a short hike through the jungle to a farm on location. The staff were incredibly helpful and pleasant, from the hotel and the restaurant. The food, which mostly came from their own farms, was always fresh and delicious. The communal area, with a hot tub and shared refrigerator, had a social atmosphere. The view of both the lake and the volcano were unbeatable.

I particularly loved the themed dinners, where Chef Gabriel prepared exquisite three-course meals. The yoga classes were rejuvenating and the hydrotherapy was a perfect way to relax. I also enjoyed exploring the beautiful trails and spotting wildlife along the way. The bamboo massage was a highlight of my trip, leaving me feeling completely relaxed. The tent I stayed in was cozy and comfortable, providing a unique camping experience. Despite some minor drawbacks, such as the portion sizes being a bit small for my appetite, I would highly recommend Essence Arenal Spa & Yoga to anyone seeking a peaceful and rejuvenating retreat. I had a fantastic experience and will cherish the memories from my stay.
