The room decor was unique and thoughtful, although there was a slight musty smell due to the rainy season. The best part of our stay was definitely the food. The breakfasts were delicious and kept us fueled for the day. The dinner options were exceptional, with generous portions and a wide variety of choices. The staff were polite and friendly, making our experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel for a great stay with amazing food.

As women traveling alone, we felt very comfortable and safe at Gingerbread Restaurant & Hotel. The staff was friendly and efficient. The owner, Eyal, was personable and made us feel like family. The restaurant served fantastic meals with a focus on seafood. The rooms were comfortable and the decor was nice. The hotel is well-positioned for easy access to tourist activities in the area.

Felt very lucky to have found this gem, no reason to complain.

Great view of Arenal Lake from the front porch. Beautiful casita with a king, size bed and open, air shower surrounded by plants. Excellent food and dessert, especially the clams in sauce and bread pudding.

The location is not convenient if you don't have a car. Limited options for non, seafood eaters.

We recently spent Christmas at a hotel near Lake Arenal and had an amazing experience. the chef/owner was fantastic and the food he prepared was exceptional. the room we stayed in had a beautiful terrace with a view of the lake. It was spacious and comfortable, with both air conditioning and a ceiling fan. the hotel was located just a short drive from Arenal Nuevo, where we found some great restaurants and a supermarket for snacks. the owner even offered to give us a lift to town, which was really convenient. the breakfast included in our stay was delicious, with a variety of options to choose from.

One thing that could be improved upon is the cost of taxis to and from the hotel. the fare was a bit steep, but luckily there were other transportation options available.

The chef, Eyal, is passionate and entertaining, sharing stories that had us laughing until our stomachs hurt. The hotel itself is cozy and unique, with fun and comfortable rooms. The shower with an open screened roof was amazing. The location is great, just outside Arenal. we highly recommend Gingerbread for its wonderful food, staff, and unforgettable experience.

The Garden of Eden cottage/room was clean, comfy, and unique. The food prepared by Chef Eyal and his staff was fabulous at every meal. The friendly staff and excellent service added to our enjoyable experience. The hotel's location was convenient for exploring the area and offered beautiful views of the lake. We also loved the daily breakfast with a charming bird-watching display.

We got incredible value for our money at this charming hotel. The room was perfect, with beautiful tropical jungle artwork and a spacious bathroom. The location was great, just a few minutes from the lake with a stunning view from our balcony. The staff treated us like family, providing amazing service and even fixing a flat tire for us while we enjoyed a delicious breakfast.

The only thing that could make the breakfast even better would be more variety in the food options.

The staff at Gingerbread went above and beyond to accommodate us when we had a water issue at our rental property. They were flexible and juggled their reservations to ensure we had a room for the night. We have stayed here before and will definitely return if we need a room in the future. Stayed in a bungalow with an open shower and mosquito netting. Unfortunately, the room felt damp due to heavy rainfall.

Had a fantastic Christmas at this hotel! the accommodations were spacious and well-appointed, just what we needed. the breakfast included was delicious and plentiful. the hotel has a great location with a beautiful view of Arenal Lake. We also loved that the chef was able to accommodate special requests, making our dining experience even more enjoyable. we had a wonderful time and would definitely consider returning.

The only downside was that the atmosphere in the restaurant could be a bit overwhelming for some people. the owner and chef had a big personality and created a lively atmosphere, but it may not be everyone's cup of tea.

Lovely and varied breakfast with fresh fruit and coconut bread. Dinner menu is international and flavorful. Rooms are comfortable with jungle-themed decor. Balcony overlooks the lake. The chef is exceptional and the food is outstanding. The owner is welcoming and a great conversationalist.
