I had an amazing experience at this eco lodge! The location was perfect, just a short distance from Corcovado National Park. The lodge assisted with permits and the entry point to the park was conveniently close to my room. The lodge also had their own reserve with a hiking trail, where I encountered a variety of animals. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making me feel right at home. The beautiful garden was a great place to relax. As a budget traveler, I appreciated the affordable prices and the option to stay in the "monkey camp" with a tent. The food was delicious and the beers were properly chilled. The lodge organized day trips to Corcovado with a knowledgeable guide. I also had the opportunity to learn about marine life from a marine biologist at the lodge. this was a memorable experience in the rainforest.

Felt like a home away from home, with nothing to complain about.

We had a great experience during our New Year's stay at the eco lodge. The location was absolutely stunning, with beautiful views of the ocean and surrounded by pristine nature. The fact that it was located near a national park added to the appeal. The accommodation was clean and comfortable, and we really enjoyed waking up to the sound of the waves crashing on the shore. The food and drinks at the lodge restaurant were fresh, healthy, and delicious.

There were a few aspects that weren't as great. The lack of electricity in the tents was a bit inconvenient, especially when it came to lighting at night.

What a view! What a friendly host! Jonathan even took me to see the lands for sale around the area! So if you're not into the Disney Land vibe of most places around La Fortuna, don't hesitate to go there. Oh, did I mentioned it was a bargain at that price?! La Leona Eco Lodge is about as close to paradise as you can get. It sits right next to miles of empty beaches. It sits a couple minutes away from Corcovado National Park. You hear the sound of the waves all day long, from any part of the property. The property itself is also beautiful and comfortable; it is clean, nicely landscaped, and there are plenty of hammocks for all guests to enjoy. The staff are also excellent: they are very friendly, attentive, and responsive to all your needs. They learned our names and answered all our questions. We also had a great experience with the food: the staff and chef were very careful with our dietary restrictions , and all of the food was delicious. There's a great dining space and bar, where you can enjoy the drink of your choice. The lodge organizes half-day tours of Corcovado, where you can see wildlife and birds; the guides are very knowledgeable about local nature. One quick note: Wi-fi is not provided, but if you need it for an emergency, they will be able to get you connected. We lived in one of the bungalows in the upper-camp. Many visitors avoid this because you do have to climb up a number of steps to get there. However, we highly recommend this area, because we were able to see a lot of wildlife right from our balcony, and we had a beautiful view of the ocean.

The best was the unique and beautiful location. It takes some time to get there but it's definitely worth the journey. The staff welcomed us with a drink and were very friendly and helpful during our entire stay. Breakfast is good and changes everyday. We had a tent with a private openair bathroom, which was very special. There is free water and ice-tea available at the accomodation. The tours you can book are great too, we saw many animals and the guides are professional and fluent in English. You can charge your electronic services for free at the reception. No WiFi, but this will make your stay even more special.

The common area was nice, and the location right at the edge of the rainforest and ocean was peaceful and beautiful. Getting to the lodge was an adventure, with a walk along the deserted beach and sightings of howler monkeys. I highly recommend staying here if you want to explore Corcovado National Park.

our extended stay at the eco lodge in carate was simply incredible. the remote location, surrounded by the lush forest and crashing waves, made us feel like we were at the end of the world. the friendly staff, variety of meals, and easy arrangements for guided trips made our experience even more enjoyable.
