The staff was extremely lovely, helpful, and welcoming. The atmosphere was calming and perfect for relaxation. The hot-spring bath was a fantastic experience. The location was easily accessible and convenient. The traditional Japanese breakfast was delicious and satisfying.

Nothing to dislike.

The river-facing tatami room is a treat. Staff prioritized safety during the typhoon. 24/7 indoor baths, and an outdoor bath for men/women at select times. Amenities provided include a yukata and socks. Shops are within walking distance. English-speaking staff provided great hospitality.

Our stay at Masutomi Ryokan was absolutely delightful. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality and made to feel right at home. The traditional Japanese-style ryokan was beautifully maintained and had a charming ambiance. The highlight of our stay was definitely the delicious breakfast served each morning - oishi! The hot spring onsen was a perfect way to relax and unwind after a long day of exploring. We did find it a bit challenging to carry our heavy luggage up the small hill to the hotel, but it was a minor inconvenience compared to the overall experience. The staff, especially the owner, were attentive and had excellent English proficiency. we highly recommend Masutomi Ryokan for a truly authentic and enjoyable ryokan experience.

We stayed at a hotel that was in a great location, right in the center of Hakone - close to the lake, the train station, and the bus stop. The room we stayed in was cozy and comfortable, with a beautiful view of the surroundings. The bathroom was clean and well-maintained, and the staff provided excellent service throughout our stay. The breakfast served was delicious, with a variety of options to choose from. The hotel also had a relaxing hot spring bath, which was a wonderful experience.

One downside was that the hotel did not have an option to store our baggage after checkout.

The highlight of my stay was the delicious breakfast that was served every morning. Additionally, the hotel offered excellent value for money.
