I booked at Iya Onsen for a week to experience a high-end onsen. The food was original and tasteful, both dinner and breakfast. The indoor and outdoor baths were beautiful, and the staff spoke good English. The location was serene and relaxing, with breathtaking views of the Iya Valley. The room was a combination of Japanese and Western style, with a private bath. The service was amazing - the staff even rescued a trapped deer near the hotel.

The open, air onsen bath after taking the cable car ride to the bottom of the ravine was a unique and rewarding experience. the view from the onsen was breathtaking and allowed for a close connection with nature. the hotel is situated in a peaceful and secluded location, providing a sense of tranquility and serenity. the staff at the hotel were friendly and attentive, providing excellent service throughout the stay.

The hotel is located quite far from the nearest train station, requiring a lengthy bus ride through mountainous roads. the meals at the hotel were good but not exceptional, lacking the exotic and gourmet options found in other high, end ryokans.
