The hotel had a beautiful view overlooking the river and the ambiance was very elegant. The lobby with its grand staircase and crystal chandeliers was impressive. The staff at reception and the concierge were friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet in the fine dining room was extensive and delicious, with a variety of options to choose from. The location of the hotel was convenient, with easy access to the Rijksmuseum and other attractions in the city.

The check-in process was slow and inefficient, reminiscent of pre-computer times. The hotel seemed to have a problem with room availability, as our room was not ready when we arrived and we had to wait for quite some time.

During my Christmas stay, I was pleasantly surprised by the luxurious décor and grandeur of the hotel. the building itself was magnificent and instantly made me feel like I was staying in a palace. Additionally, the staff were incredibly attentive and helpful, providing excellent service throughout my stay. the location of the hotel was also a key highlight, as it was centrally located within walking distance of many of the city's attractions. This made it convenient for me to explore the city and make the most of my time in Amsterdam.

The hotel was absolutely stunning and had a unique Dutch ambiance that added to the overall experience. the staff were extremely well, trained and provided top, notch service throughout our stay. We were particularly impressed with the efficient and personalized check, in process, as well as the attentive service in the spa and fitness areas. the hotel also had strong and consistent WiFi, which was a bonus for staying connected during our romantic escape.

The only downside to our stay was the check, in process, which was quite slow and frustrating. We had to wait for a significant amount of time before being able to check, in and get settled into our room.

I had the most memorable stay at the Intercontinental in Amsterdam. The staff went out of their way to ensure my wife's birthday was extra special. From the warm welcome to the river view room, everything was truly magical. The elegant ambiance, luxurious amenities, and impeccable service surpassed all expectations. The health club was a delightful bonus, offering a variety of facilities for relaxation. It's safe to say that the Intercontinental Amstel Amsterdam has become our new favorite hotel in the IHG portfolio. I highly recommend this exceptional hotel for a truly unforgettable experience.

We had a great city break at this historical hotel. With magnificent views to the river and canals, the location was perfect for exploring the city center and major attractions. the breakfast had a wide selection of fresh and delicious options. We enjoyed the luxurious amenities and service.

The check-in process was not smooth and we waited an extended time for our room. Some advertised amenities, such as a lounge, were not available.

I had a fantastic stay at a hotel in this city. The location right by the canal was stunning, with terraces that offered beautiful views. The hotel even provided its own canal cruises, tailored to your preferences. The hotel facilities were amazing, including a smallish pool, a gentle hot tub, sauna, and steam room. I also enjoyed the breakfast, which was delicious. The staff was friendly and helpful, making my first visit to the Netherlands a memorable experience.

A Grand but a tad tired hotel. I stayed at this grand hotel for free with my IHG points. The rooms had a touch of grandeur but were in need of a facelift. However, the location was excellent and the staff were friendly. I would recommend this hotel, despite its tiredness.
