Great room with amazing view, friendly and helpful staff, delicious breakfast, newly refurbished.

Our stay at this hotel was truly amazing. The location was perfect, situated in the heart of the touristy area of Lido. We were able to easily access transportation to explore the surroundings. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, always with a smile on their faces. The room was spacious and well-equipped, with comfortable beds and all the necessary amenities. The breakfast buffet offered a variety of delicious food to suit everyone's tastes. The outdoor swimming pool was a great place to relax and enjoy some tasty poolside meals.

This hotel is highly recommended for families, as it offers a range of services and facilities that cater to their needs.

Upon arrival, we were greeted with a warm welcome and offered glasses of champagne and juice for the kids. All members of staff were respectful and spoke multiple languages. the room was spacious, clean, and had a beautiful view overlooking the sea and a field. One great advantage was the extra glass and chair provided for the children. the location was also perfect, with easy access to both the city center and nearby ocean adventures. We enjoyed relaxing by the pool in various areas with incredible views.

The breakfast had lukewarm or cold hot food, except for the scrambled eggs which were tasty. Although the pastries and fruit salad were nice, there was only a small variation of pastries.

The hotel is located in the 'Lido' area, offering beautiful nearby seafront walks and ensuring a convenient distance to the center. The bus stop outside the Porto Mare makes transportation easy. The rooms are modern and well-maintained, with efficient air conditioning. The clean service provides freshly topped-up bathroom amenities and plenty of towels.

Some guests reported noise issues in the morning, due to slamming doors and loud cleaning staff.

Beautiful, clean room with lovely balcony and sea view. Staff, especially Patricia and Humberto, were very helpful. Convenient location for central Funchal.

The room I stayed in at Alto Lido had an incredible view from the terrace. The reception staff were friendly and went above and beyond to help me with various requests, even providing me with wine glasses and a corkscrew for my room. The breakfast selection was delicious and there was a good variety of options. I had a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

One drawback was that initially, my room overlooked a construction site, which caused noise disturbances in the morning. However, the receptionist was helpful in relocating me to a better room.

The buffet restaurant was a culinary delight, the private shuttle service saved me from walking , and the indoor and outdoor pools were perfect for avoiding the sunburned masses.

Oh, just the small inconvenience of the closed spa. No biggie.

The Alto Lido was a modern, well-presented hotel in a great location. The rooms were pleasant, cleaned daily, and had balconies with sea views. The indoor and outdoor pools, sauna, and gym were all available for guests to use. The complimentary bus to Funchal city center was very convenient. Despite a few minor drawbacks, overall I had a pleasant stay and would recommend this hotel.
