We had an amazing stay at this hotel! The best aspects were the character-filled atmosphere, the breathtaking view from the balcony, and the fantastic staff. The hotel's location on the bay of Funchal was perfect, with stunning views of the sea and easy access to the pools and the sea platform. The breakfast was delicious and the staff were friendly and well-trained. We can't fault the property in any way.

My Christmas stay at this hotel was quite enjoyable. the rooms were spacious and clean, with a lovely balcony overlooking the gardens and sea. the breakfast area had a great selection of food, and the service was friendly and professional. I also liked that the hotel had multiple pools, including one filled naturally by the sea. It was convenient to have small supermarkets nearby and the hotel was within walking distance to various restaurants.

There were a few things that I did not appreciate about my stay. some of the staff seemed a bit laid back and not very attentive.

The hotel grounds are beautiful and it's centrally located to plenty of restaurants. It's definitely a place with old money poshness and a touch of fun. The tennis courts were excellent and could be booked in advance. The gym equipment was good and there were also snooker room and board games available for rainy days. The bar served delicious cocktails with generous amounts of cashew nuts and canapes. The staff were friendly and helpful, making our stay effortless and pleasant.
