the hotel, housed in a 16th-century manor house, retains many interesting old features in its 20 rooms. We found our room to be clean, comfortable, and tastefully decorated, with a delightful 4-poster bed. the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly, making us feel welcome throughout our stay. the hotel's location is also fantastic, with a short walk to the historical city centre and close proximity to the funicular. We also appreciated the underground car park nearby, which made parking convenient. we cannot speak highly enough of the hotel's restaurant. the menu was tempting, and the food exceeded our expectations. We dined there on two nights and were blown away by the delicious seared tuna and fillet steak. the staff at the restaurant were excellent as well, providing top-notch service. Casa Melo Alvim - By Unlock offers a wonderful experience in Viana do Castelo.

We had a fantastic stay at this historic hotel in a great location. The staff, especially the guy who checked us in and the night shift front desk worker, went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and ensure we had a pleasant stay. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable, providing a good night's sleep. The shower was also excellent. The hotel's happy hour was a nice touch, and we enjoyed the convenience of the location. We would definitely book here again. Thanks to By Unlock for such a wonderful experience.
