I got amazing value for my money and the room was super comfortable. The hotel's location in the heart of Alfama was perfect, and the staff treated me like a VIP.

The breakfast could use some improvement in terms of variety.

As a part of Lisbon Heritage Collection, we had an incredible experience at Solar Do Castelo in Alfama. the included breakfast was absolutely delicious, featuring an abundance of seasonal local and traditional food selections. It saved us a lot of time and money, as food in Portugal is both high quality and very affordable. the peaceful breakfast room, nestled by the courtyard with peacocks and a water feature, provided a great way to start our day. the staff, especially Elsa the manager, were friendly and helpful, even assisting us with a reservation for Christmas Eve dinner. the cozy room overlooked the Tagus mouth and castle walls, and the bathroom was excellent with great soap. We also loved exploring the little museum in the basement, filled with ancient artifacts. a truly magical experience that we would love to return to.

My room had a cozy window seat to relax and read, while overlooking the picturesque courtyard with beautiful peacocks. The breakfast had an impressive variety and quality of fresh fruits. Overall I'd recommend this hotel.

The location of this hotel is fantastic, right by the castle in the old Alfama district. It's quiet and peaceful, and you can even hear the peacocks from the castle. The staff were wonderful and very helpful. The breakfast was extensive and tasty, with plenty of options to choose from.

The courtyard is colorful and inviting, with a lounge area inside. The room has a small balcony. The front desk goes above expectations. A free concert at the Palace can be enjoyed from the courtyard. Breakfast is good but pricey.

The hotel was perfectly located near a major tourist attraction and offered a comfortable room. the breakfast buffet was outstanding and served until noon, allowing for a relaxed start to the day. Additionally, the staff were friendly and provided helpful recommendations.

During my stay, there was a bit of noise due to the mating season for the peacocks in the area. Although it didn't disturb my sleep, it may be distracting for those who are more sensitive to noise at night.

The hotel itself is full of charm, with peacocks roaming around the glass-encased courtyard. It was such a unique and entertaining experience. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, always willing to assist with any requests or issues. The room was comfortable and well-equipped, with Molton Brown products in the bathroom and cozy robes and slippers. The breakfast selection was delicious, with both sweet and savory options, and I loved having access to coffee and tea throughout the day. I highly recommend this hotel for its exceptional location, comfortable amenities, and outstanding service.

The location of the hotel was perfect, right beside the Castle. We could easily walk up-and-down the hill and reach the metro or the main squares in about 15-20 minutes. The room was spacious and clean, with a comfortable bed and a lovely balcony overlooking the courtyard. The staff provided excellent service, welcoming us with a bottle of champagne and a decanter of port wine. The breakfast buffet had a great selection and the courtyard was a peaceful place to relax.

We stayed at Solar Do Castelo for three nights on a leisure trip. The staff was incredibly accommodating, allowing us to leave our bags early and even placing them in our room while we explored. The common spaces were welcoming and well-maintained, and we enjoyed the complimentary pastries and drinks in the dining area. The small museum in the basement was a unique addition. The hotel also provided us with a heritage card, granting free access to four museums. After checkout, we were still able to utilize the facilities and enjoy the free pastries, drinks, and printing services.
