I had an amazing experience staying at this 4-star hotel. The location was perfect, situated right near the lively square where everything happens on a daily basis. It was also nestled in the mountains of Clarens, providing breathtaking views and access to beautiful trails for morning runs. I loved being able to walk everywhere, with all the shops and restaurants within close proximity. The staff were incredibly friendly and made me feel right at home, especially Zacki at the bar. He went above and beyond with his hospitality, making my stay even more enjoyable.

Despite a small hiccup upon arrival, where we were initially placed in a noisy room above the dining area, the staff quickly resolved the issue. They did their best to accommodate our request for a non-noisy room and I appreciated their efforts.

The staff at the Protea Hotel in Clarens really went above and beyond to ensure my stay was enjoyable and memorable. I was pleasantly surprised when they made a fuss about my birthday, and they even went out of their way to find a chemist for my sick mother. From the cleaners to the reception staff, everyone made our stay amazing. The location of the hotel was also fantastic, with lovely views to wake up to and enjoy a cup of coffee on the balcony.

The hotel's location was ideal, being within walking distance of the village and close to all the shops and restaurants. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the service was exceptional. The breakfast offered a wide variety of options in a relaxed atmosphere. Additionally, the room had a stunning view and was spacious, providing a comfortable stay.

The room I stayed in was quite small and lacked a balcony, which would have been nice to have.

Fantastic central location, delicious breakfast, helpful staff, walkable distance to town, excellent restaurant and lounge area.

Felt right at home, no complaints at all. So grateful for the helpful staff's assistance with our car.

The food was delicious and the staff were friendly and accommodating. The location of the hotel was perfect for exploring the area, with lots of great restaurants and shops within walking distance. We also enjoyed the complimentary wine and cheese tasting that was offered during our stay.

Our stay was not without its problems. The cleanliness of the hotel left a lot to be desired, with dirty dishes left in the hallway and the swimming pool looking uninviting.

Comfortable room with a need to improve the mattress. Great breakfast and cozy lounge with a fireplace. Perfect location within walking distance to restaurants. Conveniently located near the beautiful Golden Gate National Park.
