We had a fantastic stay at Du Grand Lac Excelsior. the location is stunning, right by the lakeside with a beautiful view. We were able to walk to the local train station in just 7 minutes, making it easy to explore the rest of the riviera. the junior suite upgrade was lovely, with comfortable king-size bed, big balcony, and well-appointed bathrooms. a classy and beautiful hotel that we would definitely stay at again!

I recently stayed at Excelsior in Montreux for a few days and it was an incredible experience. The view from the hotel's balconies is simply breathtaking, offering stunning vistas of Lake Geneva and the Swiss Alps. The hotel's old-fashioned yet comfortable ambiance, along with the friendly and helpful staff, made my stay even more enjoyable. The spacious room with two bathrooms was a pleasant surprise, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The breakfast in the lobby, although slightly obstructed by a tree, offered a good variety of options. The hotel's location and the availability of a free bus pass made exploring the city convenient.

Can't recommend highly enough this hotel.

This place is amazing! The location is perfect as it is right by the lake and only a short walk from the city center. The room was spacious with a balcony that looks out to the stunning view. The staff provided exceptional service with room amenities such as mini-bar and in-room safe. The facilities, from the indoor and outdoor swimming pools to the spa and wellness center, made for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

I had the most incredible view from my room at Du Grand Lac Excelsior. I could see the sparkling lake and breathtaking mountains right from my window. It was the perfect backdrop for a peaceful and relaxing stay. Plus, the hotel's location away from the center allowed me to enjoy a quiet lakeside walk whenever I pleased.

the hotel was a delightful surprise, exceeding my previous stay in montreux. the location was perfect with stunning views of the lake and mountains. the staff, especially mr sweet, were incredibly welcoming and made our stay memorable.

Something was off with the breakfast.

The views from our room were absolutely breathtaking, with a beautiful balcony overlooking the stunning lake. the room itself was clean and spacious, comfortably accommodating three adults. the hotel staff were also very helpful, providing us with discounts to attractions and bus passes, making it easier for us to explore the area.

The unreliable WiFi. We had to repeatedly log in and enter the password, which became quite annoying.

The early check-in was fantastic after a long flight. Comfortable room with lake view balcony. Hearty breakfast. Convenient location between Montreux and Chateau de Chitton.

We were pleasantly surprised by the location of the hotel, with its proximity to a little garden directly next to the boardwalk along the lake. The room we stayed in was spacious and had a beautiful balcony overlooking the lake. The staff were friendly and helpful, making our stay even better. The breakfast offered a good variety of options to start the day.

We did find some areas of the hotel to be a bit dusty and in need of a fresh coat of paint.

had an amazing honeymoon in montreux, and du grand lac excelsior made it even better! the beautiful ambience, excellent food, and convenient location near the ferry terminal and buses exceeded our expectations.

smelly room and poor service

The scenic walk by the lake right outside the hotel was amazing. We enjoyed strolling down the beautiful path while soaking up the stunning views of the mountains and crystal-clear waters. the huge, cozy rooms were clean, well furnished, and had a great ambience. the staff was hospitable and always ready to assist. We especially appreciated the wonderful variety of breakfast options, and the fact that tea and coffee in the room were complimentary was an excellent touch.

The showers were not as modern as expected, and the ventilation was not properly working. the rate seemed a bit too much for the quality of the amenities offered, and the cost of basic room services like the tea, coffee machine were a bit pricey.

Stunning lake view, peaceful location, waterfront promenade access, charming Olde Worlde style, friendly staff, beautiful lobby.

Everything was spot on.
