The room had a comfortable king size bed and a relaxing atmosphere. Staff were friendly and efficient. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The hotel caters to cyclists and provides secure bike storage. Will definitely stay again!

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel in the highest market town. The building itself is beautiful, with charming period features that added a unique touch to my experience. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, especially when it came to my e-bikes. They went out of their way to find an extension lead to charge the batteries, which couldn't be removed. The restaurant had a lovely atmosphere, and I enjoyed a delicious meal by a cozy log fire. The gin menu was also a pleasant surprise! In the morning, the breakfast was tasty and satisfying.

Stayed here while visiting the Alston/Weardale area. Room was clean and bathroom fairly modern. Good-sized car park across the road and within walking distance to shops. Breakfast had a good range of options and cooked to order. Staff were pleasant and helpful. a nice enough place to stay.

We had a fantastic experience at the hotel. The warm welcome at reception instantly made us feel at home. The rooms, including the bedroom and bathroom, were spacious, clean. We were impressed by the bar/restaurant area, which had a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The food exceeded our expectations and was absolutely scrumptious, from the delicious dinner to the mouthwatering breakfast. We also enjoyed a delightful cappuccino and lemon cake at the cafe during lunchtime. Furthermore, the hotel provided free parking nearby and offered beautiful views from our window. We only wish the weather had allowed us to fully enjoy the lovely garden.

The WC in the bathroom had a slight issue, but it was easily overlooked.

What a lovely experience! The staff was amazing and the location was perfect. The room was remarkably clean and spacious. We were impressed with the comfortable furnishings and the nice decor. The food in the restaurant was top-notch, with an excellent breakfast selection and lovely atmosphere. We also loved the fact that the restaurant offered gluten-free options that were delicious. It was a great selection for anyone with a special diet.

The room was extremely cold, with inadequate heating that was turned off for several hours of the night. We requested more coffee and tea and had to go to a garage across the road to get it. And although the food was great, the prices for the meals were quite high compared to servings and options. However, the hotel had a very inviting cafe and reception area that made a very good impression.

The warm and friendly welcome we received at this hotel made our Easter stay truly enjoyable. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate our needs, especially with our fussy eater. The rooms were impeccably clean and the daily replenished tea and coffee tray was a nice touch. The view from our room was breathtaking and added to the overall relaxing atmosphere.

That the bar closed before 10pm and the staff seemed eager to leave. It would be helpful if this information was made more clear to guests.
