Paul, our welcoming host, shared interesting historical details about the house and recommended nearby walks. The breakfasts were cooked to perfection, offering a fresh menu every morning. Our room, the Spa room, had direct garden access and a spa bath for ultimate relaxation. We can't wait to return to this hidden gem!

We had a fantastic stay at a beautiful country house with stunning views. Our room was spacious and luxurious, with a comfortable king sized bed and a lovely big bathroom. The owner, Paul, was incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay. The breakfasts were delicious and the location was perfect, with plenty of dining options nearby. we highly recommend this hotel for a peaceful and enjoyable stay in the Lake District.

My partner and I stayed at Foxghyll for 2 nights and it was perfect. The old manor house is a stunning 400-year-old property, with tastefully decorated rooms and direct access to a beautiful garden. The small flowing stream added a charming touch. We loved exploring the property and taking in the views of Wansfell Pike. The full cooked breakfast was delicious, and our hosts Paul and Rachel were incredibly friendly and helpful. We especially enjoyed the guided walk to the fell with their dogs and the thoughtful gesture of flowers and Prosecco. Highly recommend!

It was great to be in a quiet area away from the busy streets but still within walking distance to the center of town. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a stunning view. The service was impeccable, with friendly and helpful hosts. The breakfast was superb, with delicious and generous portions. The facilities, such as the provided torches for evening walks, added to the overall convenience of our stay.

We also loved that we could walk straight from the property, buy ice cream from the hosts, and immediately start our climb up the beautiful Loughrigg fell.
