Traveling on a weekend getaway, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Chequers Inn. The rooms were cozy, comfortable, and had brand new shower rooms. The staff was friendly and efficient, and the included breakfast was fantastic. The pub/restaurant had a warm and inviting atmosphere, with lounge areas and a cozy fireplace. The food, especially the homemade curries, was excellent, and the selection of ales was impressive. Even better, they were welcoming to our dog and had secure parking at the rear.

The hotel lacked warmth in the atmosphere, and despite being a character home, there was little charm. the building felt neglected, with old and worn furnishings, and maintenance issues.

The staff at this place were really friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to make sure I had a comfortable stay. The room I stayed in was clean and bright, and so was the bathroom. The breakfast served here was delicious and the lady who served it was exceptional.
