The hotel is conveniently located near the Ravenglass & Eskdale railway, making it a perfect choice for those looking to explore the area. The rooms are comfortable and equipped with basic amenities, including a bath which is always a nice touch. The view over the estuary from some of the rooms adds to the charm of this hotel. Additionally, the breakfast offers a variety of options, from cereals to a delicious cooked Cumbrian option.

The only small issue we had was with the lack of atmosphere in the bar and dining area. It would have been nice to have some music playing or a few board games available to create a livelier vibe.

Had a great Christmas stay with friendly staff who made us feel welcome. Enjoyed the amazing food and plentiful portions. The location was perfect with a view of the estuary and just a short walk to the train station for a steam train ride.

Our ground floor room was noisy whenever the front door slammed shut, causing our dog to bark. A quieter fastener would have been appreciated.

We loved the peaceful and traditional surroundings, perfect for those seeking peace and quiet. The evening meals and breakfast were superb with a great selection. The staff was very attentive and friendly. Highly recommend for a visit!

During my recent stay at the Pennington Hotel, I was impressed by the stunning location right on the coast. It provided a perfect base for exploring the beautiful Lakes and mountains. The hotel, still family-owned by the local Pennington family at Muncaster castle, had a charming and welcoming atmosphere.

For the price we paid, the value was exceptional and the room was spacious and comfortable. The hotel's location next to the estuary provided a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere. The staff at the hotel were friendly and went above and beyond to ensure a pleasant stay.

The breakfast menu could have been improved by offering a wider variety of options.

My recent stay at a hotel in a beautiful, quiet location next to an estuary was amazing. The spacious and comfortable room had tea and coffee facilities, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The staff were polite and friendly, and the restaurant served absolutely beautiful food at reasonable prices. The hotel also had a peaceful bar area and was close to a cute local pub. I would highly recommend staying here despite the minor inconveniences of thin walls and limited parking.

Great hotel to explore nearby attractions, warmly welcoming staff, fantastic breakfast cooked fresh to order, nice bar area to enjoy drinks with friends, accommodating manager.

Food quality could be hit or miss, dining room atmosphere wasn't welcoming and lacked sound absorption, and some of the room's fixtures needed repairs.

I was pleasantly surprised by the spaciousness of the room at the Pennington Hotel. The large bathroom was a real plus, and the views across the estuary were absolutely brilliant. Additionally, I found the bar prices to be quite reasonable.

As a tourist, I loved the beautifully clean and thoughtfully furnished bedrooms. The en-suite bathrooms were well-equipped with a modern leak-proof shower and instant hot water. The comfortable king-size beds and extra touches like a coffee percolator made the stay very enjoyable. The food in the restaurant was delicious and the staff were friendly.

Lovely hotel with great location and delicious food in the restaurant. The staff were friendly and helpful, upgrading our room for our anniversary. We even got to bring our dog with us throughout the hotel. The beach and walks right outside the property were a bonus. Definitely worth staying here!
