We were pleasantly surprised by The Red Lion in Bredwardine. The pub part of the hotel wasn't open when we arrived, but a quick phone call cleared up the confusion. The food at the restaurant was absolutely excellent. We did have to wait a bit, but it was well worth it. The retro furnishings added a quirky touch to the room, and the shower room had great water pressure. The beds were comfortable, and the location was perfect for exploring Hay-on-Wye. The desserts and breakfasts were also fantastic. I would highly recommend this hotel for its charming atmosphere and delicious food.

Every meal I've had here has been a delight, from the hearty breakfasts to the delicious desserts. The attention to detail in the dishes is evident, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food.

The room was in a desperate need of renovation, the decor looked outdated and the bedding was old and scratchy. The staff was generally uninterested and not helpful with requests. The noise level from the highway outside made it impossible to get a good night's sleep.

The value for money at the Red Lion in Bredwardine was great, especially for the 2 bedroom apartment we stayed in. The room was cozy and comfortable, with a nice little kitchen and lounge area. The location was perfect for exploring the beautiful Golden Valley and the nearby Three Castles. The staff were very friendly and helpful, making our stay even more enjoyable.
