We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The staff were lovely and welcoming, just like the locals. The hotel facilities were simple but adequate, and the separate building meant there was no noise from the bar. The location was slightly off the beaten track, making it a quiet and peaceful place for the wedding we were attending. The hotel had ample car parking and there was a small kid's play area in the back garden.

I recently stayed at The Royal Oak in a small village location. From the moment I booked in until the time I left, the staff were incredibly hospitable. My room, one of the five located in the pub grounds, was spacious and had all the amenities I needed, including tea and coffee making facilities. I particularly liked that the rooms were on the ground floor and not attached to the pub. The decor and furnishings in the public areas maintained the traditional village pub atmosphere, and the food surpassed my expectations for such an establishment.

In terms of cons, there was nothing that I didn't like about my stay. 👌

The pub had a cosy and traditional atmosphere, a refreshing change from modern chains. The menu had a nice variety of freshly cooked food, with generous portions. The location was quiet and ideal for a peaceful getaway.

The room had some snagging issues, such as a broken wardrobe door handle and an ill-fitting bathroom door. The shower only had two temperatures, hot and freezing cold.

Bedding could be more comfortable.

Stayed here for a business trip and was pleasantly surprised. Rooms were clean and comfortable with tea and coffee-making facilities. Location was great, away from the busy city but close enough to drive in for work. The bar had a great selection of well-priced food and real ales.

The breakfast didn't include any cereal or toast. , the lack of wifi in the bedroom was a bit disappointing.

Meet and greet, requests understood. Ground floor rooms, separate from pub. Excellent food for a pub. Welcoming, friendly, informative staff. Lovely hosts, accommodating and chatty. Working on upgrades, improving. Sadly missed dinner, good breakfast.

There was nothing I didn't like.

The hotel's location just minutes from the A1 was perfect for our overnight stop on the way to Edinburgh. The beautiful rural village setting, next to the pub, added to the charm of our stay. The cleanliness of the room was impressive, and the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating.

Easy check-in, friendly staff, good selection of ales. Room was small but comfortable. No food on Mondays, but a fish n chip van serves the village from the car park. Highly recommend, would book again.

Despite the lavish experience, there was a minor issue with the bar/lounge area being a bit cramped. However, this is overshadowed by the excellent service provided throughout.

I recently stayed at a charming pub in a peaceful village. The Oakrooms provided me with a comfortable and cozy room. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. The heating system was efficient, keeping me warm during the chilly nights. The shower was great, and the towels were fluffy. I appreciated the complimentary biscuits and tea/coffee. The pub itself had a great atmosphere, with delicious breakfasts and dinners, generous portion sizes, and reasonable prices. The on-tap beers were also a hit, although I may have enjoyed them a bit too much! The location was perfect for exploring Rutland Water, Stamford, and Buckminster, and there was plenty of parking available. I had a wonderful experience and wish The Royal Oak all the best.
