We just had a lovely one night stay at The White House. The host was kind and helpful, the rooms clean and comfortable, and breakfast delicious. Our dogs also enjoyed their stay and had their own little breakfast treats. It's a lucky find for us, being halfway between our home and our destination in Scotland. The room gives an excellent night's sleep in a quiet setting with a great view. Lovely morning walks with our dog and a fabulous breakfast set us up for the day. Thank you for the exceptional hospitality!

The tea tray included a generous-sized mug, a thoughtful touch. Helen, the host, was kind and provided helpful local advice.

We also found it to be very near to the motorway, making it easy to get back on the road. On top of that, it was close to many other areas in the Lake District, allowing for exploration of the beautiful surroundings.

We also enjoyed the communal areas downstairs, perfect for relaxing and taking in the beautiful view of the sunrise. the staff were accommodating and we had a great time sharing stories at breakfast. the location was quiet yet close enough to drive to the tourist areas of the Lake District. The breakfast was delicious, with locally sourced ingredients. Plus, the guest house had a stunning view of the nearby woodlands. I couldn't recommend this place enough!

We were close enough to explore nearby towns and there was easy access to the motorway for our journey home. the rooms were spotlessly clean and incredibly comfortable, with blackout blinds and a big, comfy bed. We especially enjoyed the cooked breakfast in the morning, which was both delicious and not greasy at all. We also appreciated the wide range of food options and the accommodating nature of the staff.

The only negative aspect of our stay was that the heating wasn't on when we arrived and it was a bit chilly. we had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a romantic getaway!

The bed, although a bit lumpy, was comfortable enough for a good night's sleep. The owner was welcoming and couldn't do enough to help. The breakfast options were extensive and delicious, and there was plenty of parking available. The location was quiet and peaceful, away from the bustling town. we definitely recommend this hotel.
