One aspect that I didn't enjoy was the lack of charm and professionalism in the recently renovated rooms. They felt stark and plain, lacking the character and warmth that I was expecting.

We had an amazing stay with stunning ocean views, a well-kept inn with old New England charm, and a friendly and responsive staff. The hotel was very clean and nicely updated. The location is right at the waterfront with easy access to beaches and shopping in both Rockport and Gloucester. The breakfast included in the price of the room was always wonderful, and we enjoyed the afternoon chocolate chip cookies in the lobby.

The recently updated rooms were so comfortable, especially the bed and linens. the view overlooking the Atlantic was breathtaking and the location was convenient, with a short distance to downtown. the breakfast was delicious and there were fresh pastries and coffee available in the morning. the staff were friendly and the porch and yard had chairs to relax in and enjoy the beautiful location.

The walls were thin and we could hear late-night conversations from neighboring rooms. the bedroom lacked seating, a wall mirror, and a dresser for clothes.

The hotel's location in a residential neighborhood allowed for a peaceful and authentic experience in this coastal town. Being close to everything, I had easy access to the central town area of Rockport. The hotel facilities were impressive, with a historic building that was nicely appointed and had decent amenities. The staff, especially Melissa Hobbs, the event planner, went above and beyond during a storm to ensure guest safety and a fantastic wedding experience.
