Great spot for a weekend in Carolina Beach at a reasonable price. Super friendly staff.

Great beach views and walkable to attractions!

The hotel offered incredible views of the ocean and was just a few steps away from the beach, making morning jogs to the ferry or relaxing afternoons at the Tiki bar a real treat; I could easily stroll to nearby restaurants like Pop's Frozen Custard or Uncle Vinny's Pizzeria, and I was thrilled to explore spots such as the Carolina Beach Boardwalk just over 1.5 km away and the beautiful Carolina Beach State Park a short drive over 3 km away, but I was disappointed that the pools and fitness center weren't open during my stay.

The oceanfront view was amazing, perfect for enjoying my daughter's pool time while I worked on homework from the balcony. The onsite restaurant was a pleasant surprise. my room came with several issues: a broken ironing board, a non-functioning phone, and a sense of unease due to missing security features on the door. The hotel felt a bit worn, and cleanliness was a concern; there was hair in the shower and unclean surfaces. While the Tiki Bar was bustling, it made finding a chill moment tough. Free parking and beach access were definite perks.

The staff was super friendly and helpful which made our girls trip even more enjoyable. We had a lovely oceanfront room with a beautiful view of the pool and beach where we caught an amazing sunrise. The room itself was clean and had everything we needed, but there were a few things that could use some improvement. The kitchenette was quite small with limited cooking space and utensils, and there was no oven. the lack of grab bars in the tub made it a bit tricky to get in and out. there were some maintenance issues like the AC unit emitting a strange smell and the advertised heated pool being rather chilly. the toilet not having a lid was a bit inconvenient as it sprayed water everywhere when flushed. On the upside, I really appreciated the free parking, but it was sometimes a challenge to find a spot. The ongoing renovations were promising, but I hope they address the state of the pool house as it left much to be desired. our stay at Golden Sands was pleasant, with a few hiccups here and there. The friendly staff and great location definitely made up for the minor inconveniences we encountered.

The ocean view from my room was simply breathtaking! The beach is just steps away, making it so easy to relax by the waves. I loved enjoying refreshing drinks at the tiki bar while soaking up the sun by the pool.

Excellent location with stunning ocean views. Cleanliness was hit or miss—the room was spacious, but the bathroom needed attention. Staff was truly exceptional; warm and welcoming, they create a cozy atmosphere. The bed was comfortable, although the mattress felt a bit basic for the price. Convenient dining options nearby, and the food at the Ocean Grill was a highlight—quick and delicious. WiFi was unreliable, a significant drawback, especially for anyone needing to connect for work. Parking could improve; it was frustrating having to search for a spot off-site. The renovation shows promise. I’d stay again—hopefully with an improved experience.

The room was fabulous—large, clean, and inviting. The king bed was incredibly comfortable. I appreciated the refrigerator and microwave for convenience. the air conditioning was a bit loud; it cycled on and off throughout the night, waking me occasionally. While the room had a slight musty smell, it was overall tidy. The bathroom was clean, and I enjoyed the ocean view from the balcony. The toilet required some fiddling with the handle to stop it from running. Despite some minor quirks, the overall comfort of the space was satisfactory.

Had a great time celebrating Christmas with my family at the beach. Enjoyed early check-in with a clean room and a lovely view of the beach from our balcony. Convenient beach access and a cute pier with a restaurant and bar added to the experience.

The lack of communication about the closures and having to navigate through construction zones in the hotel were not ideal.

Beach access was easy, plus the tiki bar had great food! Rooms had everything like a microwave, fridge, and even free toiletries. Loved the sun loungers on the beach!

The Golden Sands Oceanfront Hotel boasts an excellent location just steps from the beach, offering breathtaking views from the room. The staff is friendly and attentive, making for a pleasant stay. Dining options nearby are plentiful, although breakfast isn't included. Clean and modern accommodations make for a comfortable visit.
