The hotel had a welcoming atmosphere and the staff were friendly and attentive. We were greeted by the valet every time we entered and the desk personnel were kind and helpful. the hotel also offered a special touch by sending us thoughtful texts throughout our stay. the location was ideal, right in the heart of downtown and within walking distance of many attractions. It was convenient to be able to walk to the event center and the baseball stadium. the staff and location were two great aspects of our stay.

There were some negative aspects of our experience. One of the elevators was out of order during our stay, which was inconvenient as our room was right next to it and it created a lot of noise.

We recently stayed at Hotel Fort Des Moines for a weekend getaway and it was absolutely beautiful. From the moment we arrived, William at the front desk made us feel welcome and his hospitality was amazing. The historic building has been beautifully renovated, keeping many original features intact. The room was stylishly designed and the bed was incredibly comfortable. We loved the choice of soap and the curtains were both beautiful and effective. The downtown location was great, although there was occasional noise from passing vehicles late at night. a fantastic stay!

We loved staying at this place! The location was perfect, right on the outskirts of Downtown, close to restaurants and everything we needed. The common areas were beautiful and well-maintained, creating a cozy and relaxing atmosphere. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the bed was absolutely heavenly. The curtains were a great touch, blocking out all the light and ensuring a peaceful night's sleep. The staff were exceptional, with the front desk clerks going above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. We especially want to thank Lucas and Francesca for their outstanding service and personable demeanor.

There were a few minor things that could have been improved, such as having a tub and shower option in the bathroom and an extra chair in the room. However, these were just small inconveniences that did not detract from our overall experience.

Clean room and beautiful decor. the bath towels were luxurious and the shampoo bottles looked like glass. the hotel management sent us texts throughout our stay, which was a nice touch. the location of the hotel was also very convenient, with key attractions and amenities nearby. the fact that the room was spacious and modern was also a bonus.

The hotel offered two complementary facts during Christmas - which was a nice touch. the location was perfect, walking distance to many stores and sites. We also enjoyed the complimentary cookies that were available each evening in the lobby.

The cleanliness of the room was lacking. the carpet appeared to be quite dirty as did the walls and bathroom.

The only downside is that breakfast is not free and the cafe can get quite busy. However, there are plenty of other options nearby, so it didn't bother us too much.

The location of this hotel is ideal for dining and entertainment as it's within walking distance of many restaurants and bars. Additionally, it's connected to the downtown sky-walk for easy access. The suites are spacious and feel like home with their small kitchen, separate living area, and bedroom with two TVs. The historic character of the hotel is charming and the price is very affordable.

The housekeeping needs improvement with better attention to detail on cleanliness.
